Law & Order: SVU Season 26: Mariska Hargitay Confirms Crossover Plans

Many Law & Order fans were concerned about the future of crossover storylines as Law & Order: Organized Crimes makes its way to the streaming platform, Peacock, from the NBC network.

With that being said, Law & Order: SVU star and executive producer, Mariska Hargitay, recently talked with Variety and offered some hope.

Law & Order: SVU Season 26: Mariska Hargitay Spills The Tea On Crossovers

During her Variety interview, Hargitay confirmed that both she and Christopher Meloni have chatted about making crossover happen, stating, “I’m actually planning on [the crossovers] … I just told him the other day. We had a party the other night, we saw each other. It was heavenly. I met his showrunner. They want us together, and Chris and I were talking about it, and it’s time. It’s time now for us. This was a long time not being in each other’s universe. That’s why we did the calls and stuff like that. But we’re excited to get back in there, get back in the ring.”

Law & Order: SVU Season 26: Fans Need More

“The calls” Hargitay is referring to in the above statement is a recent conversation between Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler. While it was a great way to keep characters connected, the show must recognize that fans want way more (as in the two, in the same room together!)

Still, the good news is that fans will likely get their wish sometime soon. While many viewers may be bummed that Organized Crime is off NBC and headed to Peacock, there are some pros to this, which includes longer episodes, as well as “edgier” content as the show won’t have to deal with fitting in the cable TV box.

Plus, perhaps crossovers will be a lot easier as Organized Crime may be more flexible with filming schedules. Only time will tell, but at least fans now know that crossovers will be a thing for both Law & Order: SVU and Organized Crime, at some point.
