Mark your calendars, Law & Order: SVU fans! NBC has officially announced the premiere date for Season 26, and all the details on this, as well as what to expect, are below.
“Law & Order: SVU”, Season 26 – There’s Time For Fans To Get Excited
The good news is, there’s a solid date for Law & Order: SVU fans can get excited about! The bad news? It’s still quite a while away!
NBC announced that the show’s 26th season would begin to unravel on Thursday, October 3 at 9 p.m. (ET). While some shows are kicking off in late September, early October isn’t too far behind, right? Plus, the later start to the season may also mean less of those random mid-season hiatuses (here’s hoping!)
“Law & Order: SVU”, Season 26 – What Fans Should Expect
It’s hard to say exactly what fans should expect from Law & Order: SVU’s Season 26 as much of what’s going on with the new season is being kept under wraps. Filming footage could be released via social media in August, and there’s also potential for a promo to drop sometime in early September.
Still, one thing viewers should gear up for is a possible crossover, as audiences of both SVU and Organized Crime love seeing Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Elliot Stabler (Chris Meloni) cross paths. The last time their worlds (and shows) collided was the 2022/2023 season.
Mariska recently told Variety that, she’s trying to organize a crossover. She adds that she told Meloni about this during a recent party where they saw each other, and she met the showrunner for Organized Crime. She adds, “They (the showrunner) want us together, and Chris and I were talking about it, and it’s time. It’s time now for us. This was a long time not being in each other’s universe. That’s why we did the calls and stuff like that. But we’re excited to get back in there, get back in the ring.”
It’ll be interesting to see if a crossover comes to be in Season 25 of SVU. Only time will tell.
