Good news for Law & Order: SVU fans! As most know, fan favorite Kelli Giddish will return to the show come Season 26, and from the sounds of it, her Amanda Rollins character will have a new job that allows her to come in and out of stories throughout the year.
Giddish recently dished on the fun details surrounding her SVU come back, and we’ve got the details, below!

Law & Order SVU, Season 26 is set to premiere on Thursday, October 3 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC, while Giddish’s first guest appearance back will be during the Thursday, October 24 episode title, ‘Divide and Conquer’. Rollins will be positioned in her new job as sergeant working for the NYPD’s Intelligence Unit.
Giddish spoke to TV Insider, adding some insight on her character’s return. She notes that Amanda Rollins gets to return within her capacity at NYPD’s Intelligence Unit, which is a new division for the character.
She’ll be helping Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and crew with their cases at SVU, here and there.
Giddish also states that there is a handful of episodes for Rollins, and the actress believes the spacing of her character’s shows will be perfect so that the audiences doesn’t get sick of “too much” Rollins.

The ‘Divide and Conquer’ episode highlights a couple having a dinner party in NYC that invaded by masked men and guests are assaulted.
Rollins and her new partner, Detective Vince Corgan (John Clarence Steward) investigate the case and find out the “bad guys” are a crew of crime tourists that fly into cities, cause chaos, and fly back out within 48 hours.
Giddish tells TV Insider that Rollins loves her new job and feels as if her character is ‘really happy’. She adds that she also has scenes with Hargitay (Benson) and the two get to ‘team up’ during the episode. She adds that the Rollins/Benson partnership remains special to them both.
