Sam Hanna was still in Hawaii. It’s still unclear why he’s in Hawaii. He’s been helping out with the past couple of cases and he offered his assistance once again with the murder of Lieutenant Commander Meredith Brooks. She was a naval pilot staying at military resort. It’s a special resort for the military as well as their families. It costs money. Which didn’t make sense for the victim. Meredith was based in Hawaii. She could easily have stayed on base. Those accommodation were free for her. This along with the fact that she had sex before she died indicated that Meredith went to that hotel to sleep with someone on the down low.
Like an affair. Meredith was sleeping with either her boss or someone that’s married. Its why she went to such great lengths to hide it. NCIS also realized within an hour of when it happened. When the murder took place. Meredith’s hotel had security cameras. The cameras cut out for a few seconds. It’s clear that someone altered the footage. They came to suspect someone at the hotel after they got a DNA test off the semen found in Meredith. She was sleeping with Former Staff Sergeant Frank Howell. He was the night manager of the hotel.
They brought Frank in for questioning. He was refusing to cooperate. He has a history with NCIS. Frank helped a woman get away from her abusive husband overseas and they were tracked down. The wife ended up recanting her story. Frank was arrested. He was dishonorably discharged after he served his time. He doesn’t want to help NCIS in any way. He didn’t even want them knowing he slept with Meredith. Its why he doctored the footage he gave them. Frank was refusing to cooperate because NCIS has burned him once before.
They had to release Frank because they didn’t have enough evidence against them. He returned to the hotel. So, they put agents at the hotel. Lucy and Kate pretended to be a couple on their honeymoon. They hung round in the lobby. They tried to gather information, but Lucy’s behavior kept getting in the way. Lucy put eyes on them by tipping big to all the servers. People were now rushing to serve them. They were also gossiping about them and so not good for the undercover agents. Or learning Meredith’s secrets.
Frank admitted that Meredith was in trouble. He wouldn’t say anything else because he didn’t trust NCIS only they searched Meredith’s room. They found a recording device. Meredith recorded her own murder. Her killer didn’t talk. He also surprised Meredith. She didn’t let him in. The key card system said Frank was the last person to leave the night before. It was Lucy who figured out how the killer accessed Meredith’s room. Lucy showed that by taking a room a floor above that she could climb down right onto Meredith’s balcony. This was how the killer got close without being seen.
Also, the listening device. Why did Meredith have that? She turned it off whenever she slept with Frank. She wasn’t using it to spy on him. There’s a chance she was using it to spy on others. Still, why did she do that? It seems she was using it people she met at the hotel. Though oddly Frank has been meeting with people since Meredith’s death. Kate followed him. Kate saw that he went into a manufacturing shed. There had their crime scene analysis team go over that shed. There were drugs found. The drugs were found in the pineapple that get handed out to everyone at the military hotel.
These pineapples could hold a lot of liquid cocaine. It was also a perfect way to transport it because now the military were in on it and they were bringing drugs overseas. Meredith was trying to uncover a giant drug ring. She was unfortunately stopped before she figured it out. NCIS found out that the drug enterprise was being operated by the cartels. They found bodies that seemed like they were murdered by cartel. They also found another pineapple house. NCIS made a lot of arrests. And they figured out who the drug connection at the hotel was.
After Frank’s murder, the pieces all came together. Frank was never the mastermind. George was. Lucy and Kate made the arrest. They found out that their new friend George truly ran that hotel. Everyone answers to him. He was also thrown out of the miliary because he was drug dealing. George tried to pull a knife during his arrest, but Kate had her gun. Gun beats knife. They arrested George. He now has to sing about everything to get a better plea deal. And Ernie meanwhile looked into Sam’s official NCIS file only it showed it wasn’t the Naval Office that was paying to do those seminars.
It was E.L.I.T.E. Whatever they stand for was hidden. Ernie couldn’t even hack them and so Sam wasn’t being completely honest about his trip to Hawaii.
