In tonight’s NCIS Hawaii, a park ranger ran into Staff Sergeant Nicholas Ruiz moments before his death. He ran screaming from the forests. He said someone was going to kill him and he wasn’t wrong. Someone did kill him. He was shot by a high powered rifle. It was a military issued ammo in that gun.
He died in the ranger’s arms after seeking her help. She called it in and NCIS became involved. Tennant tried to handle the case with care. She knew why soldiers might be out in those forests. It could SERE training. It was also known as survival training and it was meant to break people down to get the best out of soldiers. They had to live off the land for a few days. And they were supposed to return once they survived.
Tennant called the Commanding Officer for Nicholas. The guy came in all angry about her wanting permission to enter those woods only to be told that his soldiers were dying. NCIS went on to find two more bodies after Nicholas. They were all part of the survival training. Five of them went off into the woods.
Three was killed. Two were now suspects. Marine Colonel Reed went with Tennant into the woods. He said he knew how to track them. He also suspected they were looking for Gunnery Sergeant Clint Osbourne. It was his knife found in the back of one of the dead soldiers.
Also, Osbourne was trouble. He joined the Marines to hide from that trouble. It just didn’t stop him from getting out of hand. These men they all went to a known marine drinking bar. The marines that were killed were kicked out of that bar. They damaged the jukebox which is really expensive. Osbourne wasn’t like them.
He was quiet. He sat alone. He liked watching the bartender. The same bartender that disappeared a while ago. Her name was Rebecca Lee. The lady that owns the place said that the rowdy ones were harmless. It was the quiet ones that were scary. The owner didn’t mention that to HPD when they came looking for the bartender.
Kai and Jesse went in a different direction than Tennant and the Colonel. They ended up finding Gunnery Sergeant Braden Kirk. Kirck said Osborne was trying to kill them. He was asked about the bartender. They said they love a good drink. It was different for Osbourne. He was obsessed with Rebecca Lee.
He did something to that girl. They don’t know what. They just know it was him and now he was targeting them during survival training. He was trying to kill all of them. Kirk was running for his life when he spotted the NCIS Agents. He begged them for help.
Osbourne was problematic. Everyone said so. This included Colonel that disappeared on Tennant. Tennant meanwhile came across Osbourne. He knocked her unconscious and ran off. He didn’t kill her even when he had the opportunity to do so. It was odd. It was supposed to be a bloodthirsty killer.
There’s no way he would have left Tennant injured but alive if the bloodthirsty part was true. She lost her radio trying to get help. She found a woman living off the land. She went to her cabin and she was let in by this strange woman. A woman armed with a rifle.
Tennant was making peace with this woman while the rest of the search party continue to look. Osbourne caught up to the guys. He killed Kirk. He got away again and the Colonel finally showed up. He admitted to ditching Tennant. They went looking for Tennant after that. They found her radio.
They thought they heard Osbourne and they started shooting. Tennant could hear it from the abandon house. She had imagined a woman living there because she had questions herself. Why was Osbourne sent for training? He was supposed to be trouble. Why did Osbourne set traps? Who did he think was coming?
Tennant had so many questions. It turns out the Medical Examiner had the answers. They found Rebecca’s body. She was killed by at lest three people.
Osbourne works alone. He was considered a lone wolf. He didn’t kill her. He knew who killed her and that’s why he was hiding. He was protecting himself. He set boobytraps for whoever was after him. He didn’t hurt Tennant because he knew she was innocent of crimes. Tennant figured it all out while she heard the gunshots. She followed it to see Osbourne. She tried to reason with him.
He was in fight mode. He started shooting. The Colonel tried to kill him for killing his men. Or so he claimed. Sam stopped Osbourne. Tennant stopped the Colonel. Osbourne killed his unit because they were rapists. They target women and they assaulted their victims together. They did the same with Rebecca.
She saw them coming because Osbourne warned her. That’s why he was always watching her. He warned her and she tried to fight back. The men killed her. They raped and murder her. They are the four other men that were sent with Osbourne. And the man that gave them the order.
The Colonel’s DNA was all over Rebecca. They have him on rape and murder. They planned on killing Osbourne because he tried to warn their latest victim and they saw that as a betrayal. They were afraid he would talk. That training exercise was all about killing Osbourne. He knew to be prepared before he entered that forest. And he won’t be charged now for self-defense.
Rebecca will get justice.
Tennant later realized the woman she envisioned helping her was in fact her mother. Her mother came to help.
THE END!
