In tonight’s NCIS: ORIGINS episode, the one thing Franks hated was workplace distractions. He called Lala that once. She was upset by that. She hadn’t told anyone when it first happened, but much later on she talked about it with Gibbs.

It could have been months or it could have been years later. She was still upset by it. She told Gibbs that it felt like she had been put in a box and that box was constantly getting smaller.

She was so upset that she started lashing out. She was late to a scene. She had just come back from a bar and Franks gave her lip about wearing lipstick.

Lala had gone out to celebrate Vera’s profiling program that night. She also met a guy. They made out. She was enjoying herself and that’s why she was late to the scene.

When she did show up, Franks gave her a hard time for being late. Then the lipstick thing. There was also a problem when Lala dropped a tissue on the ground.

The local cop thought that was evidence. He got into a screaming match with Lala about her picking it up and Franks had to break it up. Lala was not herself that night. Frank even asked her what’s wrong.

She wouldn’t say. She acted like nothing happened. Only she was getting tired of the way she’s treated. She felt singled out. They were called to the home of Petty Officer Second Class Greg Piccolo because his neighbors complained about the noise.

The cops showed up and they found Greg’s body. It looked like he committed suicide. The medical examiner later determined that it was actually homicide. It was now a murder investigation and still Randy took time to read some of the love letters that the victim got.

They were laughing about what was in those letters when Lala entered the room. Suddenly, they didn’t feel comfortable discussing the letters and they didn’t want to show them to Lala. She had to wait to read them. She got copies of them the next day.

She also learned that they believe the love letters were written by a man. This theory was backed up when someone called the office. Mary Jo was told by an anonymous male caller that Greg did bad deeds and they should look at where he worked.

Greg was a fire controlman. He controlled a secure room with classified files. No one got passed him without the proper clearance and, while highly respected, he also kept to himself. Lala began looking into Greg. She used to do that from the start.

She was starting slow with this case and that could be because of her guilt. Lala cheated on the man she loves. The guy at the bar was a fling. She never got his name. She never wanted to. What gutted her was when she returned home to find a great guy that made her breakfast. And she remembers she betrayed his trust.

It was the others that found out that Greg had a leak in his office. There was a file about a tomahawk. It was in the wind and NCIS needed to know who wanted to buy the information. SAC Wheeler got them information on the buyer. The buyer was Sam Rhodes.

He buys information on the black market and it would suck if his name and face was all over the news talking about him betraying his country. So, Rhodes assisted NCIS with the case. He told them where the deal was happening.

It was going to be at an underground gambling den. Gibbs was to go undercover. Lala was told to go with him as his arm candy. Lala was insulted by that. Gibbs tried to tell her that he could talk to Franks for her, but she didn’t want his help.

Gibbs may think he was different only he was just like the other guys in underestimating her. Its why he pulled his weapon on unarmed civilians when she told him she could handle the situation. She still went as his arm candy. She helped Gibbs become Sam Rhodes.

Lala also later saved Gibbs from breaking cover. His dentist was at the secret club. She kept him hidden from the guy long enough to save his cover. They were then approached by the seller. Lala pretended to be drunk to make herself seem less like a threat.

She identified the four men in the room. She was buying them time without them knowing how much they needed it. They didn’t have the fully agreed amount. The FBI left them short by thirty grand. The FBI also had a case in the area and them making such noise might spoke the seller. Luckily, Lala managed to get the upper hand in that room.

She gave Gibbs a knife. She stole a gun. She took out one of the bad guy and Gibbs took the seller prisoner. That’s when backup arrived.

They arrested the men. Gibbs showed he could be trusted with a job like that while Lala had to hear in the dressing room all the men that really loved her undercover dress. She and Vera talked about it. She has to be strong. Just not too strong or she’ll be labeled a b*tch. She can’t wear her tightest pair of pants. She has to make crass jokes when they talk about her. To show that she’s one of the guys.

Lala faced constant micro-aggressions and so the least she could do was come clean about making out with a rando.

THE END!
