NCIS: Origins: What Fans Can Expect

NCIS: Origins will center around Leroy Jethro Gibbs, circa 1991, when he enters his career as a new agent at the California NCIS Camp Pendleton office. The team he is on is led by Mike Franks, another major character from the NCIS mothership show.

Origins will begin after the tragic events surrounding the death of Jethro Gibbs’ first wife, Shannon, and his daughter, Kelly. For fans that recall, the two died in an automobile crash caused by Pedro Hernandez, a drug dealer.

Origins will take a similar approach to the show, Young Sheldon, where Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons acted as a narrator retelling his character’s younger years. While actor Austin Stowell will enter the role of a young Gibbs, Mark Harmon will return to do voiceovers.
