NCIS took down a notorious Russian spy. The Sydney branch has been doing wonderful things lately. They’ve closed every case and all they had to do was keep watch over the spy until she could be transferred.

Somewhere secure. Somewhere she could be questioned for a lifetime if necessary. The Americans were hoping to crack the spy known as Monroe.

They wanted information on their enemies like anyone else would have in that position. They knew that Russia would want her back, but they underestimated the lengths in which Russia would go to get her back. No one had suspected that they would target family members of the people that caught her.

Someone snatched JD’s son from his own birthday party. The kid’s name is Jack. He was turning nine. His mother threw him a birthday party with cake and a clown. Only the clown wasn’t funny.

The kids were hating him when suddenly he got Jack to disappear. They had thought that was cool at first until they realized that Jack never reappeared. The clown then drove off with Jack and the mother called JD. JD was questioning the spy at the time. It was actually the spy that told him to take the phone call.

Remember this because that’s why he almost crossed the line with her.

The spy called herself Anna Niemus. She first pretended to be Irish. Then she claimed to be Russian. She told JD to take the call and that’s how he learned his son was kidnapped.

It was about an hour after that phone call that JD got another one. That time it was the clown calling him. The clown spoke in an Eastern European accent and he demanded that they make an exchange. The boy for the girl that NCIS had in their custody. JD then flipped out. He tried to threaten Anna to get information. And Mackey stopped him from beating Anna to get answers.

Mackey was going to help him get his son back. There was no doubt about that. Mackey stopped him because he wasn’t thinking things through.

She reminded him that Anna planned on killing fifty people in a bunker and that the plan went sideways when they all survived. Anna wasn’t involved in anything after that. She couldn’t have known about his son. Her plan didn’t depend on Jack and so she couldn’t tell them where Jack was. She could on the other hand tell them who sent their kidnapping clown.

Someone from the birthday party took a photo of the clown. Blue was able to get an image of him without makeup and they used that photo to question Anna. Anna refused to say who sent this man. She changes her accent every few minutes. She’s pretending to be Irish again. All she would say was that the man they’re looking for was dangerous. She told them to hurry up. They kept looking for the man she described. They even found the real clown that he killed and had strapped to a bomb. And so the way the man died indicated their abductor was religious.

He planted a token of the Russian Orthodox Church on all of his victims.

They tried speaking to a Russian Orthodox Priest of the biggest Russian community in Sydney. The priest claimed not to know that man in the photo and yet someone warned their abductor. They managed to track down the fake clown by using his food delivery orders. They went to his location and he cleared out. Everyone assumed it was the priest. Thanks for that, priest! They then tried looking through what they had on Anna. They found the jammer she used. JD broke it to pretend it didn’t have an off switch and then he showed it to Anna.

JD made Anna believe that she was supposed to die in that bunker. Anna gave him the abductor’s name. But then they heard that the CIA was coming to pick Anna up. They knew they ran out of time and so JD helped Anna escape. He took her to the trade. He was going to give her up in exchange for his son only Yaroslav changed his mind. He planned on killing everyone. Jack included. JD had given Anna a gun before the meet. She used the gun to kill Yaroslav. She could have killed JD too and she didn’t.

Anna instead gave him a phone number of someone they could hand over to the CIA. It was another sleeper spy. This time his name was Colonel Richard Rankin. He was actually with Mackey when they got satellite images of JD with his son and Anna. NCIS went looking for him after he disappeared with the girl. They even saw the moment Anna gave JD that number and then she escaped. For real this time. Anna was gone. JD had his son back. Mackey however had a gun ready to use for the Colonel because JD called that number. And everyone heard the Colonel’s phone ring.

It turns out the American Colonel was feeding information to the Russians. He wasn’t going to escape now that Mackey had her sights and her gun on him. And that’s where the show left things for their season finale!

Next season better have the full twenty episodes!

THE END!
