For many fans, it feels like their favorite shows “just” returned, after a shortened season due to the Hollywood strikes. Now, a number of top ABC shows have been off for three weeks, not airing new episodes and the wait has been brutal.
ABC Fan Favorites Currently On Hiatus
The last time viewers saw new shows of Tuesday’s lineup of Will Trent, The Rookie, (ABC Renews The Rookie For Season 7) and the final season of The Good Doctor, was April 9. New episodes won’t be returning until April 30.
Meanwhile, ABC’s Thursday night schedule consists of Station 19, 9-1-1, and Grey’s Anatomy are on hiatus, too, and not returning with new shows until May 2.
Many fans might be frustrated, as this was a shortened season as it is, with about only 10 shows for each series; however, something similar happened in 2021 when shows returned after the COVID-19 lockdowns. Shows tried their best to stretch the season out until May when finales take place by these small hiatuses, mid-season.
It’s challenging as fans to go through, especially if a cliffhanger has taken place between the break in new episodes and the “return” of shows, but it won’t be long before everyone’s favorites are back, to finish up this season.
This Will Be The Last Break For The Season
The silver lining in all this is that once your favorite ABC shows (Could Station 19 Find A New Home In Netflix, Now That It’s Been Cancelled?) return from hiatus, this will be the last “break” for the shows this season. Each show will likely have about four to five shows left, and they’ll air week after week, until their respective season finales.
While this is the final season for both Station 19 and The Good Doctor, at least there will be no more interruptions for fans, as they soak up every last moment of their favorite shows.
