In tonight’s Station 19 episode, things were still tense. Station 19 couldn’t rally around after everything they’d been through. Ben and Montgomery were sniping at each other.

They didn’t want to see the new baby pictures of Liam. Maya was very proud of her new son. She wanted to show him off. Only no one was interested.

Andy wasn’t even interested and she was about to be godmother. Andy struggled after their last call. They all watched a man die because they lost crucial equipment. They all heard his son screams as he watched the fire engulf his father. And so nothing they could say right now could help them through this trauma.

They couldn’t even enjoy Andy’s pinning ceremony. Andy informed the team that Theo resigned. The last call took its toll on him and the hits kept coming.

They also learned that Crisis One will be canceled. The new Mayor was trying to save money. He was cutting the program that the late Dean Miller created. Vic was so numb that she didn’t react at all to the news. She later said she was glad it got cut because doing it by herself sucked. She didn’t react as well as to Theo quitting. She knew Theo better than most.

She should know what losing someone on the job meant to him.

The captaincy ceremony for Andy was also a bust. The lights went out. They thought it was budget cuts and really it was a fire that knocked out the lights. The fire was at the Seattle Space Needle. The landmark to Seattle. There were eyes on them from all around the country and Andy couldn’t flinch.

Andy had spoken with Maya earlier. Maya reminded her that they lose people on the job. Andy’s father was a great man and he still lost people. It happens. They couldn’t be firefighters if they didn’t accept that it will keep happening. The best they could do was their jobs.

Ben also wasn’t taking their recent loss well. He blamed himself for injuring his back. He got sidelined on the last job and so now he was giving himself injections to be fit.

Ben knows that he shouldn’t be doing that. It was a slippery slope once anyone starts doing that. He still gave himself the shots. He went into the Space Needle with the rest of his team. He and Sullivan were sent to deal with the fire in the electric room. They didn’t have enough water for that and more supplies were on its way.

The fire in the electric room got out of control. Ben and Sullivan became trapped in there without water. They were running low on oxygen. The team wanted to rush to save them.

Montgomery wanted to rush to save them. He felt bad about losing his temper with Ben. He wanted to apologize. Ben must have seen the end was near because he asked the team to help his wife with Pru. He also asked them to tell Bailey that she was worth waiting for. And then there was a bang because the fire had exploded inside of that room.

There’s no telling if the men survived. Montgomery couldn’t do anything about it. He and Maya were helping Vic and Beckett rescued the people that were trapped inside of the elevator.

One guy was having a panic attack. Another had an epileptic fit. The woman with epilepsy was with her husband. Her husband kept lashing out at the kid with anxiety. Vic was usually the face of calm and she wasn’t with these people. She yelled at all of them. Beckett of all people had to remind her that she’s a firefighter.

Vic remembered who she was. She calmed down the men. They did their best to rescue everyone. Beckett really needed this because their last call took its toll on him as well.

They got everyone out that elevator. Andy also came up with an idea to rescue Sullivan and Ben. Montgomery went with her to rescue the men. They gave the men additional oxygen and all of them were able to walk out of that friggin building. The fire at the substation was even put out. Plus, Theo found himself a new job. He now works with a private paramedic service.

Carina ran into him when she assisted a few people that got into a car accident. He seems happier as a paramedic now that he was no longer battling fires. But Vic finally reacted.

Vic snapped at the new Mayor when he came to do a victory lap in front of the Space Needle. Vic told all the cameras watching that she saved those people with the skills she learned at Crisis One. The same program that the mayor wants to cut. She called him out in front of everyone. She had to be restrained before she could physically get in his face and so she might lose her job after this.

Vic definitely got sent home after this. She wasn’t allowed to finish her shift. She missed out on Beckett and Maya burying the hatchet. She missed out on hearing about Jack’s new job as a dispatcher.

She also missed out on Andy’s captaincy ceremony. Theo showed up to that. He didn’t spot Vic and he heard she got sent home after a rough call. He called her to offer support as best as he could only Vic didn’t answer his call. She didn’t answer anyone’s calls. And she missed everyone finally getting along.

Sullivan also got engaged. He proposed again. This time the Fire Chief finally accepted. And Maya was going to donate her own eggs so that she and her wife could get pregnant.

THE END!
