In tonight’s Survivor episode, Caroline betrayed her alliance to vote out Gabe. Gabe was a social player. She was worried he’d win if he survived long enough to be in the final three and so she betrayed him as well as Sue. Sue was a part of their alliance. She was also still at the beach. She had been blindsided by Caroline.

She was clearly left out of the majority. They weren’t telling her their plans. It left her vulnerable. She could no longer rely on Caroline. She doesn’t have a strong connection with the others that were there and so Sue was worried about getting eliminated going into tonight’s episode.

The one thing that Sue had in her favor was the idol. The idol that she can only play once. Sure, Caroline tried to explain herself. She claimed that she voted Gabe out because it was the best for her own game and Sue was sympathetic.

She had no other choice. She had to be sympathetic in order to maintain her last ally. She stayed friendly with Caroline. They told each other they would be in the final two. They went looking for allies on the beach and the hard part was aligning themselves with the new majority.

Some wanted to get rid of the physical threats. There was Sam, Kyle, and Genieve. There was an alliance in place to get rid of these three people and so Genevieve should be making friends, but she couldn’t do it. Genieve was closer to another contestant at the start. He got eliminated. His final words were “Genevieve, I trusted you”.

Genieve has been struggling with guilt from that ever since then. She didn’t want to play the social game. She didn’t want to grow close to someone only to betray them. She’d rather be the outsider than the friend with the knife.

Kyle understands where she’s coming from. His name has been put out there several times. He knows he can be eliminated at any time and in spite of that he still doesn’t want to play the social game.

He grew up in the foster care system. He constantly changed schools. He didn’t want to be someone whose character constantly changes with the wind. He wanted to remain who he was. Even if it meant he didn’t make new friends. He aligned himself with Sam and Genieve. They also had Andy.

Andy was the “smiling assassin”. His words! He’s friendly with everyone. His social game was so strong that no one was putting his name out there and none were considering eliminating him. His strategy didn’t last forever, but he constantly finds himself with the majority. He just has to keep his cool until the final three. Then a boat came along. The contestants had to draw a stick out of a bag to determine who would get on the boat. Rachel won and she was smart enough to realize this might risk her game.

No one knows what would happen with Rachel. Which meant that everyone would be wondering if she won an advantage or even an idol. Rachel herself knew that the others would be thinking that. Her only hope was to win whatever she could and she did. She got an advantage. She earned the privilege to block a vote from another player. It would remain anonymous. The others wouldn’t know she had the advantage much less played it. The last time she can use it was when they were down to the final six.

Rachel was worried that her enemies would use her advantage against her. She then did something a little silly. She lied about what really happened. She told Genevieve Sam, and Kyle that she lost out on winning the advantage. She told everyone else the truth. Sam pretty much guessed that she was lying.

Genevieve also thought the same thing because she later approached Rachel. She said how Sue and Andy were going to be in the final three because someone would drag them along with them and she thought getting rid of Andy now will free up a spot for someone else. Someone worthier.

Genieve didn’t know that Rachel would then repeat the conversation to Andy. Andy remembered this wasn’t the first time that Genieve has thrown his name out there.

He was also offended that she thought he couldn’t earn a spot in the final three on his own and so he came up with a plan. He wanted to get Genevieve out. He was willing to use his social game to get everyone to turn against her. Genieve didn’t see him as a threat and so the only thing that could prevent Andy’s plan was if she won Immunity.

They later had to play for Immunity. They had to spell out “immunity” using blocks. The blocks were carefully balanced on a slab that the contestants were controlling with a rope. Rachel would go on to win immunity tonight. Thereby leaving Genieve in a vulnerable position to fight off Andy’s attack.

She heard her name was being put out there and so Genieve did the one thing she hated. She turned on an ally. She tried to convince the majority that the bigger threat was Kyle. Sam didn’t want to turn on Kyle. He knew he’d be next if he did. Andy also didn’t want to turn on Kyle. He wanted Genieve out instead.

Andy and Rachel both felt that they should blindside Genevieve. Only they couldn’t convince the others to do it. Caroline and Sue both saw Kyle as the bigger threat.

They’ve been waiting to eliminate for a while at that point and they weren’t going to pass on the opportunity just to target Genevieve The majority must have agreed because Kyle was later eliminated tonight. And Andy now found himself out of that majority.

Kyle will be back at the end though to vote for the winner.

THE END!
