In tonight’s The Amazing Race episode, the show kicked off its thirty-sixth season of “The Amazing Race” in Puerta Vallarta. There was a married couple that teaches double dutch aerobics, there was a set of twins, there was a pair of nurses, a pair of miltary pilots, and plenty of drama. They all watched the show.

They all loved the show. But can they survive the show? The race to the cars wasn’t without incident. There was a father that tripped. It took him a minute to get back up.

He just kept apologizing to his daughter and she did her best to tell him that there’s nothing to apologize for. He had an accident. It could happen to anybody. It’s fine. They may have lost ground only they thought they could recover it.

Their first clue was hidden with the Birdmen. They were also known as Voladores. Some of them failed Spanish in High School and so using a Spanish map of Mexico wasn’t helpful.

They also all ran to the cars to be the first to do so. They didn’t necessarily know where they were going nor did they try to stop to ask for directions. Ricky and Cesar were the first to reach their destination.

They are a couple. They were given a choice on their next take to receive their next clue. They had to decide between a test of physical strength or a test of memory. They chose memory because they knew they couldn’t handle the hobby horses.

Maya and her brother have been long-time watchers of the show. One took French in High School The other took Spanish. They took different languages because they wanted to prepare for the show.

They loved it that much. Rohan was the one that took Spanish. He was put in charge of the map. His Spanish seems to be rusty because these two were clearly lost.

They had nowhere to go. They kept driving around. They were fortunate in that it took most people forever to reach the Voladores. The second pairing to reach the famous dancers were Shelisa and Derek.

Those two retired cops were quick on their feet.

Rod and Leticia were next to the clue. They ultimately chose a test of memory like the guys. Anthony and Bailey were the twins. They actually stumbled across the first clue.

They were just driving around when they saw a bunch of cars parked and they recognized it as belonging to their competitors. They then stumbled their way all over the beach asking random people for the clue before finding the Voladores.

They chose a test of strength. Lots of people chose strength. They had to bring down a bunch of large hobby horses down and then wait for kids to ride them.

It’s only once they’re ridden that the teams get a next clue. Those that chose strength were slower than the ones that chose memory. Take Ricky and Cesar. They were still at the clues as other people started coming up.

They had to match Lucho Libre masks with the men they were wrestling. They finally got it right and they were still in the lead. They were soon followed by Rod and Leticia. Ricky and Cesar got it first by mere minutes. They were neck to neck in what came next. Rod thought his skills as a football star would help. And so he chose memory to help his wife because she’s not as ripped as his.

Chris and his daughter chose strength. By time they got the clues, all the hobby horses were gone. They were too late to get them and so they had to go with memory to stay in the game.

The remaining teams had to go with memory. Chris and Mary started walking with the pilots. They ended up going in separate directions because they each thought themselves were right. Neither side also didn’t want to tell the other people that they were going in the wrong direction. And Chris and Mary suffered for it.

Chris and Mary eventually saw their former friends again at the test of memory. The military guys got it before them. For those that chose strength, Shelisa and Derek were the first to finish.

They were driving to the next clue just a little behind the others. It turns out those that chose test of memory were quicker to the next clue than those chose strength because they weren’t tired. They all had to drive out to the Rodeo. They got their next clue there. They then had to use their laso skills to in a skillful dance test of strength.

Rod was first to the laso. He was soon followed by Cesar. This was Cesar’s heritage and so he was neck to neck with Rod. Karishma went for her team. She was with her cousin, Kishori.

Karishma thought she got this because she’s from Texas. She was also half-Mexican. Only she didn’t read the directions properly. She failed to see that she had to wear a handkerchief along with the hat to do the laso jump. She finally got the jump after nineteen times only to learn it didn’t count because she wasn’t wearing the handkerchief.

The first to final clue of the night was Rod and Leticia. Ricky and Cesar were second. Derek and Shelisa were third. Surprisingly, the couple that have the double dutch aerobics studio needed a few tries with the laso before they got it right. Juan and Shane got to the clue fourth. Then were those that got lost on their way to the rodeo.

So many people got lost. Rohan and Maya were forever lost and Vinny and Amber almost missed the cut off for the rodeo because they were second to last. And it was race to the bottom with at least three teams.

And Maya and Rohan who were the superfans were eliminated tonight. They waited too much time getting lost in the car.

THE END!
