It was down to the final three. Or it was until someone threw a spanner in the works. There was one woman that left on her own accord and this season’s bachelor seemed very upset by it. Joey was a nice guy.

He genuinely sounded like someone that wants to fall in love, but there was a rewind before whoever left did leave. This earlier version of Joey was a little too giddy going into Overnights.

He was ready to see where relationships goes. He wasn’t really specific about which relationship he wanted to test. Which one of the women must have saw as a red flag.

She was there to commit to him and he was there sampling three women to see which ones he liked the most. And by sampling, it is implied that he will probably have sex with more than one of them.

Hence the need for the rewind. The whole world wanted to know what perfect Joey did. The show went back a few days prior to the incident to the point Joey was mentioning putting himself back out there.

He tried to devote himself to one woman once. It was his relationship with Charity. She didn’t want him and so he was a little gun shy.

He was afraid of being hurt again. He even cried. He seemed really in touch with his feelings. Everyone was rooting for him. The show also brought in Susan from the “Golden Bachelor” to talk to the women.

Susan was there as a wise guru there to help. She spoke to Rachel first. Rachel admitted that her last two big relationships ended with cheating.

She still has her guard up because of that. She doesn’t want to get hurt again and she was really struggling with being on this season.

She didn’t want to put her heart out there only for Joey to pick someone else. She didn’t think she could handle it. Only Susan told her that she has to lower that guard if she truly wants to see where things go with Joey. It’s not like Joey hasn’t noticed the walls she put for self-protection.

Joey later said that Rachel hasn’t opened up to him like the others have. He took her on a date into nature primarily because he wanted to see her let guard down.

They were around animals and Rachel loved it because she loves animals. The two bonded over that. They also went swimming. Rachel was fun. She was down for everything.

She took Susan’s advice to heart. Rachel jumped off a clearing into the water with Joey and she injured herself. She at first tried to downplay it. Joey noticed that she kept touching her face even as she said she was fine. They brought in the medical expert to check her out.

Rachel hadn’t broken anything. She was just in evident pain. Not that she would admit that to Joey. Joey knew that Rachel was pushing through the pain because she didn’t want to lose out on time for them and he was more concerned about her injuries than he was about their date.

He still took her to the hospital. She did x-rays. She truly hadn’t broken anything. It was merely sore. It was going to be like that for a while and the two of them ended up having a romantic dinner after their trip to the ER.

Rachel was still bummed about the direction the date took. She was blaming herself for ruining things when Joey said that she didn’t intentionally hurt herself.

She got injured in a freak accident and she doesn’t need to beat herself up for that. Joey told her it was okay for her to be disappointed. She didn’t do anything to ruin their time together.

He was happier to hear that her jaw felt better and the two of them got to talking. She admitted that she dealt with cheating boyfriends. She was nervous about what this weekend meant for them. And so Joey felt so proud in her for lowering her guard that he invited her to the Fantasy Suite.

They spent a great night together. Rachel was feeling more assured about Joey. She told him that she loves him and he said he’s falling in love with her. They couldn’t stop kissing until they were finally separated. Joey had other dates to go on. His next date was with Kelsey. The “Golden Bachelor” alum Leslie came to speak with Kelsey.

Kelsey lost her own mom some years ago. She really wanted some motherly advice. She wanted to know if she was doing the right thing. She thought that she had because she’s falling for Joey. And she wanted to know that’s okay to fall in love at this stage.

Leslie’s own relationship with the bachelor didn’t work out only she had nothing bad to say. She put herself out there. She fell in love in spite of not knowing if she was capable of it again and, while it didn’t work out, she had no regrets. Love was something no one regrets.

Kelsey’s date with Joey went a little differently compared to his earlier date. They went out on a boat. They got to enjoy the somewhat testy weather. There were choppy seas along with lots of wind. Kelsey’s hair was flying all over the place. She was insecure about it and Joey put her at ease by saying he loves her hair. He wouldn’t want to change anything about her.

Kelsey normally has confidence to her. Joey found that attractive. Nor did he mind her having moments of vulnerability. Kelsey tends to hide that and she didn’t tonight. She couldn’t wait to kiss Joey. She couldn’t wait to go on adventures with him. Kelsey’s family was actually still close by.

She was often thinking of them. She had talked to her father about her feelings for Joey. Her father didn’t judge or say anything negative. He just told her what it felt like when he met her mother. It was love at first sight. Kelsey grew up wanting that and she thought she found it with Joey.

Only she felt scared to tell him that she loves him. Kelsey wasn’t sure if she could tell him she loves him. She didn’t want to say something just to get nothing back.

She also didn’t want to say something and then have him send her home because he doesn’t feel the same way. Which was why she tried to keep things on the surface at first.

She kept things light and fun until she felt confident enough to say the words. She told Joey she loves him. He told her that he’s falling in love with her. He said he’s wanted to say that for a few weeks now.

Joey even invited her to the Fantasy Suite because he was that sure of her. The two of them had a great night. They spent the next morning making breakfast together.

Joey was a little bad at it and she got to laugh at him about it. They really bonded. His next and final date however was a little difficult. Daisy was in her head a lot tonight.

She wasn’t sure if she was in the right headspace to go on a date with Joey. She first sat down with “Golden Bachelor” alum Sandra. Daisy told Sandra about how she told Joey she loves him and he told her he feels the same way.

Daisy wasn’t sure how she should take that. It wasn’t what she wanted to hear. It’s also making her question her own feelings. She still believes in the back of her mind that Joey might not want to take on someone with such baggage as a cochlear implant.

It’s what she told herself going into any relationship and she might be borrowing trouble by thinking the same about Joey. She just couldn’t shake the idea.

Her talk with Sandra helped bring back some of her confidence. Sandra reminded Daisy that Joey has never treated her differently since he found out about her implant.

Daisy chose to finally relax. She went into her date tonight knowing that she misses him. She said as much after they rode on an ATV together and she loved being with him.

They had a great time. They had a dinner that went really well. He invited her to the Fantasy Suite as well. Joey has literally slept with all three of the women in tonight’s episode. And that was too much for Kelsey.

Kelsey didn’t want to end up like Leslie. She didn’t want her heart to get broken. She wrote Joey a note saying they need to talk and she wrote that note because she wanted to explain to his face why she felt she needed to walk away.

THE END!
