The Bold and the Beautiful Recap: Tuesday, January 2 – Thomas’ New Spot for Hope’s Ring – Ridge Hints at New Destiny Couple

The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Tuesday, January 2, reveals that John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) insisted Xander Avant’s (Adain Bradley) accusation against Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) was serious since he was implying that Thomas took someone’s life.

Xander assured Finn that all the stories he’d heard about Thomas were true. If Thomas was capable of hiding a baby from its parents, Xander urged Finn to consider the possibility that he was capable of more.

Xander insisted Finn couldn’t be his doctor and that he could believe him or not when it came to Thomas.

However, Xander pointed out that Emma Barber (Nia Sioux) had her whole life ahead of her – and now she was gone.

Finn asked how Emma died, so Xander explained that she had a car crash on Mulholland Drive.

When Finn asked for confirmation that Xander thought Thomas was responsible, Xander said he knew that was the case and walked out.

In the Forrester Creations design office, Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) didn’t know what to say to Thomas’ marriage proposal since it was so unexpected.

Thomas wondered if it was really that unexpected since he was so devoted to Hope and she had his heart.

After Thomas urged Hope to say yes and be his forever, Hope said the ring was gorgeous and that Thomas was so thoughtful. Thomas always made Hope feel special and put her first.

Hope never had to question Thomas’ commitment or loyalty, so she knew how deep his love was for her.

Thomas hoped that meant Hope would be his wife, but Hope admitted she couldn’t accept his proposal.

Hope said she couldn’t make that level of commitment to Thomas or anyone else right now.

As Hope took Thomas hands, she revealed that she was touched over his expression of love and the fact that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

Every moment with Thomas was magical, but Hope wanted to find closure after her marriage to Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and give herself space to figure things out.

Hope was so sorry that she wasn’t ready for this step yet, but Thomas said she didn’t have to apologize and that he understood.

Until Hope was ready, Thomas encouraged her to wear the ring near her heart and put it on her necklace. Hope once again seemed moved as she leaned in and nuzzled against Thomas’ head.

After Hope said this was a beautiful gesture, Thomas assured Hope that he didn’t want her to feel any pressure, but he believed that ring would eventually be on her finger.

Thomas talked about all the ways he could feel their mutual love and knew he just had to wait.

Since Thomas had already waited for years, he insisted he could wait a little longer. Hope melted into Thomas’ kiss as romantic music played.

In the main office, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) ranted about Hope using Thomas as a hookup and told Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) that Hope wasn’t serious about him.

Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) overheard as she walked in and hoped Steffy was right! After Brooke said she was glad they were on the same page, she said Hope was like a drug to Thomas.

Steffy backed Brooke up on that since Hope was Thomas’ kryptonite, but Ridge acted like they should have faith in Thomas. Even if things blew up with Hope, Ridge said that didn’t mean Thomas would crack.

Steffy was adamant that Hope either needed to be fully with Thomas or end things with him.

Thomas could put his heart even further on the line, so Steffy didn’t want Hope playing with his emotions.

Once Steffy was gone, Brooke told Ridge that she didn’t want to create a rift between them, so he assured her that wouldn’t happen.

Ridge understood that Brooke was looking out for Hope and Thomas, but he suggested that maybe this was their destiny.

Since Thomas adored Hope, Ridge said maybe she liked that and considered the possibility that they should be together.

Even if things went south, Ridge acted like it wasn’t a big deal. Besides, Ridge felt Thomas knew this might be as far as it was going to go with Hope.

Brooke disagreed about Thomas accepting that, but Ridge suggested that it wouldn’t be the worst thing if Hope truly fell for his son.

Deep down, Brooke just didn’t think Hope would ever be able to commit to Thomas.

After Finn texted Steffy, she showed up at his office and learned that Xander Avant had been there.

Steffy confirmed that Xander was a fired Forrester intern and said she didn’t know he was back from Los Angeles.

Finn offered updates on Xander making a serious accusation against Thomas.

Steffy admitted Xander got caught up in all the Baby Beth Spencer (Jordyn Lynn Ariza) drama, so she said she didn’t like to think about that time of her life.

Finn acknowledged that it was hard for Steffy to lose “Baby Phoebe” after she realized her adopted daughter was actually Hope and Liam’s child.

After Finn pointed out Thomas was at the center of the deception, Steffy said it was his biggest regret and that keeping quiet about Beth still haunted him.

Nevertheless, Steffy insisted that Thomas had changed and that even Hope had forgiven him. Finn countered that maybe Thomas hadn’t changed as much as anyone thought.

That led to Finn recalling how Thomas got in Steffy’s face in the design office recently. Finn didn’t know how to tell Steffy this, but he eventually admitted Xander accused Thomas of murder!

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers hint that Steffy will have a lot to say about that accusation soon enough, so stay tuned for all the troubling news and conflict that’s brewing.
