The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Tuesday, January 30, reveals that Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) admired a picture of the ring Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) bought for Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and praised his son for going after what he wanted.
Thomas wished Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) could be as understanding, but Ridge didn’t think Hope’s mom was going to stand in the way despite her disapproval.
At the cabin on Tuesday’s B&B episode, Brooke insisted Hope was just trying to fill the empty hole in heart after her divorce.
After Brooke added that Thomas wasn’t the man for Hope, she said accepting Thomas’ proposal would be the biggest mistake of her life.
Brooke ranted about all the pain Thomas caused in the past and assured Hope that she deserved so much better than settling for Thomas.
Once Brooke reiterated that Hope couldn’t accept Thomas’ proposal, she pulled Hope into a tight embrace.
After Hope was alone, she thought back to Thomas telling her that he was a one-woman man and then mulled over Brooke’s concerns, too.
Ridge eventually stopped by to admit he knew about the proposal and play up what a remarkable man Thomas had become.
After Ridge talked about Hope finding a way to forgive Thomas, he insisted she was an extraordinary woman.
Ridge hoped Hope’s feelings for Thomas were genuine and said he’d be so happy if she were his daughter-in-law.
In the design office at Forrester Creations, Thomas teased Charlie Webber (Dick Christie) about his crush on Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) before Brooke interrupted for a private conversation.
Brooke demanded to know what Thomas was thinking when he proposed to Hope.
Once Brooke suggested she was looking out for Thomas too, she warned that Hope would never be able to fully commit and give him the life he wanted.
Thomas eventually met up with Hope, so they compared notes on their respective conversations with Brooke and Ridge.
After Thomas made it clear that he wasn’t there to pressure Hope, he urged her to take as long as she needed.
Thomas had faith that his ring would be on Hope’s finger eventually, so she smiled at him and touched his neck tenderly.
Back at Forrester Creations, Poppy Nozawa (Romy Park) continued her discussion with Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) in the design office.
After Poppy repeated that Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) wasn’t Luna’s biological father, Luna pointed out that Poppy had the same answer for every guy she asked about.
Luna hinted that she could get a DNA test and seek answers on her own, but Poppy panicked and begged her not to.
Luna didn’t understand what Poppy was hiding and wondered if it was really that shameful or embarrassing. When Luna asked if it was some big family secret of something, a rattled Poppy pulled her close for a hug.
John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) came along and interrupted, so he smiled and expressed surprise over seeing Aunt Poppy there with Luna. Once Finn embraced Poppy, he acted like things were going to be even better with Luna’s mom in town.
Finn thought back to all the time they spent together years ago, so Luna questioned what he meant. It turns out Finn, Poppy, Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) and Jack Finnegan (Ted King) all lived together when Finn first started college.
Finn talked about his parents being busy with their careers while he was facing the pressure of his studies.
However, Poppy was a free spirit and would close Finn’s computer for spontaneous dance parties when he got too stressed.
Luna wondered if she was in the picture at the time, but Finn said this was about a year before she was born.
Finn hoped to have dinner with RJ, Luna and Poppy soon, but Poppy didn’t think that was a good idea.
When Finn realized it was because of Li, he suggested he was trying to get her to come around on reconnecting with Poppy.
After Finn took a phone call, Poppy lurked and watched him nervously nearby.
Once RJ got settled in the beach house and put some photos out, he texted Luna and seemed worried when she wasn’t responding.
However, Luna met up with RJ eventually and confirmed that Poppy said Bill wasn’t her father.
Since Poppy freaked out when Luna mentioned a paternity test, Luna was confused since her mom had always said she was made from love.
Now Poppy was acting like the truth about her father was some big family secret, but Luna felt like she had to stop worrying about this since she didn’t want to hurt her mother.
