The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that Eric Forrester (John McCook) will eventually recover enough to return home. The last time Eric was at the Forrester mansion, he collapsed at his farewell party and truly thought he was a goner.
Thanks to John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) life-saving treatment, Eric was given another chance to stick around with his family.
Unfortunately, B&B spoilers confirm that Eric’s recovery will be a lengthy and complex process.
There have been major hints about Eric potentially not being quite the same as he was before. Quality of life has become a big factor, so that may come into play once Eric gets released from the hospital.
Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) doesn’t want Eric to resent him for doing whatever it took to keep his dad alive.
However, that could indeed happen since Ridge didn’t respect Eric’s wishes to let him pass on.
Of course, it’s possible Eric will need to head to a long-term care facility for a while.
Since it’s going to take some time for Eric to get back to his old self, that may require a stint at a specialized medical care center somewhere.
Then again, the Forresters have plenty of money and can perhaps set up any kind of long-term care that Eric might need right there at the mansion.
Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) may think that Eric will be more comfortable in his own home and resolve to help him transition back to his life there.
Either way, Eric’s homecoming has to happen sooner or later. Once it does, Donna may be overwhelmed by some of the changes she’s seeing in her honey bear.
It’s easy to imagine Eric becoming cold and distant. This may be when fans will finally see some of the changes that the show’s been trying to warn us about.
Eric might find himself flashing back to times when he played the piano and danced, especially if those are things that he can no longer do because of his recovery struggles.
That could frustrate and dishearten Eric, but let’s hope that Donna and his other loved ones can remind him of what really matters.
Eric is alive and can be there for important family milestones again, so that news is worth celebrating.
