The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Tuesday, July 23, reveals that Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) seemed suspicious when she learned Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) was with John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) when the news came out about Sheila Sharpe’s (Kimberlin Brown) release.
Brooke was also taken aback when Hope admitted Finn might be a little relieved.
Hope suggested that deep down, perhaps Finn didn’t want to believe Sheila was responsible for those deaths.
Hope also worried about Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) reaction to Sheila being let go and felt that Finn should be able to tell his wife how he really felt.
Brooke reminded Hope that Finn was committed to Steffy, but Hope kept finding herself questioning if Steffy deserved him.
Once Brooke exited, Hope thought back to her encounter with Finn earlier and seemed deep in thought.
At Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) mansion, he shared some kisses with Poppy Nozawa (Romy Park) and took a raincheck on some bedroom activities since he had to leave for a meeting soon.
Poppy stepped out of the room for a phone call, so that gave Katie Logan (Heather Tom) to voice concerns to Bill in private once she arrived.
Katie commented on all the fast changes in Bill’s life and worried about how Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) would fit in now.
Bill acted like it would all work out and gave Katie updates on his decision to adopt Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) as well as give her the Spencer name.
That left Katie even more worried about how fast things were moving, especially since she was getting weird vibes from Poppy.
Katie begged Bill to tell her that he was being cautious, so he insisted he was. Poppy wound up eavesdropping and spying around the corner, so she gaped as Bill kissed Katie’s head in a cozy moment.
After Bill left, Katie stuck around to find some paperwork related to Will. Poppy made her presence known and suggested this was becoming a habit of Katie’s.
Poppy noted that she kept walking in and finding Bill in Katie’s arms – and she kept finding Katie in her home badmouthing her to Bill, too.
After Poppy pointed out that she was Bill’s girlfriend now, she said Katie let him go and suggested this was a case of seller’s remorse.
Poppy thought it was obvious that Katie wanted Bill back, so she pushed Katie to admit it.
Next on Tuesday’s B&B episode, Steffy enjoyed a make-out session with Finn and wondered what delayed him.
Finn kept quiet about his earlier interaction with Hope before Steffy eventually got a text about Sheila’s release.
Based on Finn’s reaction, it was obvious to Steffy that he already knew.
An upset Steffy asked why Finn didn’t tell her right away, so Finn confessed that he was torn.
As Steffy reeled over the news that Sheila was a free woman again, she got mad at herself for believing that the Sheila nightmare was actually over.
Finn comforted Steffy, but he also acknowledged that there was nothing tying Sheila to the crime scene and she didn’t have a motive.
Steffy insisted Sheila was evil and questioned who else would’ve killed Tom Starr (Clint Howard) and Paul “Hollis” Hollister (Hollis W. Chambers) if Sheila didn’t.
B&B cut back to Poppy, who continued ranting about Katie’s feelings for Bill.
Katie pointed out that she had a right to question things that were happening so suddenly – and once Will came home, she’d be around.
Poppy was dismissive of Katie as she suggested Bill’s ex would visit and then leave.
However, Katie acknowledged that something didn’t add up about Poppy’s story, which was full of holes.
Katie noted that there must’ve been other father possibilities since Poppy was so casual back then and wondered how many there were.
If Poppy suspected Bill was Luna’s father, Katie asked why she’d wait 20 years to find out for sure with a paternity test.
Now Poppy was acting like a worried and protective lady of the manor.
Katie said it was almost like Poppy was hiding something that could strip everything away, so she vowed to get answers to all her questions.
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Katie and Poppy’s rivalry will spiral out of control soon, so we’ll pass along predictions on any drastic moves they’ll make.
