The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that the show has a summer mystery in play, so fans are having fun speculating about who’s behind all the chaos. Tom Starr (Clint Howard) croaked after his big comeback performance at Il Giardino – and now Paul “Hollis” Hollister (Hollis W. Chambers) has been found deceased at the restaurant as well.
Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) is obviously a key player in this mystery since she was there the night Tom died.
Of course, Li also blamed Sheila Sharpe (Kimberlin Brown) once Hollis’ autopsy report revealed he had the same drug at the same toxicity level in his system.
Although Li is adamant that Sheila needs to be arrested, we’re more interested in what Li is hiding.
Naomi Matsuda dropped some whodunit hints on Instagram, so let’s look at her recent post and talk about the new clues.
Matsuda put up a picture of herself with Kimberlin Brown, but it’s her caption that was particularly intriguing.
“What is Li up to…………Who is she protecting? #boldandthebeautiful #cbs #daytime #mystery #whodoneit #secret #danger,” Matsuda said.
For starters, that confirms Li is indeed up to something! Anyone who believes Li is perfectly innocent is wrong about that since she clearly has a secret.
Matsuda proved it with that “#secret” inclusion in her post, so we have to consider what that secret might be.
That brings us to another clue Matsuda offered since she asked fans for their guesses on who Li is protecting. It offers a hint about the strong motive that’s been driving Li’s actions.
Li had an anxious look on her face when Sheila mentioned Tom’s backpack, which contained information that might’ve gotten him killed along with Hollis.
There’s a good chance Li knew about Tom’s returned letters to Poppy Nozawa (Romy Park) being in that bag.
It also seems likely that Li altered the paternity results at Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) place so that he’d look like Luna Nozawa’s (Lisa Yamada) father.
Li apparently wants to keep Luna’s real paternity buried, but why would she care if Luna’s bio dad were Tom?
It’s clear that Li’s secret goes deeper than that and no doubt involves protecting someone else.
It’s possible Li believes that Poppy hooked up with John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) and that Luna could be his daughter instead.
Finn almost certainly isn’t Luna’s bio dad, but could Li have the wrong idea here?
Regardless, Jack Finnegan (Ted King) is a far more likely contender when it comes to who actually fathered Luna.
B&B has established that Poppy was living with Jack, Li and Finn around the time Luna was conceived, so an old Jack and Poppy fling is very possible.
Plus, Jack was speaking so fondly of Poppy during his chat with Finn at the hospital – like she was a former lover and someone he still cared about a great deal.
Is Li protecting Finn from a scandal – or is she trying to avoid the shame of Jack’s affair with Poppy being exposed?
Did Li take Tom and Hollis out herself or could she be covering up Jack’s killer guilt?
