Good news for fans of The Cleaning Lady. According to Deadline, Fox has renewed the drama for Season 4. Sources note that much like Season 2 and 3, only 12 episodes are slated for the fourth season.
In addition to the renewal, Jeannine Renshaw and Miranda Kwok, co-showrunners for Season 3 (and executive producers) will be stepping down, as Fox looks for a new showrunner.
Kwok developed The Cleaning Lady and will now become an executive consultant for the show, as her work shifts with Warner Bros. Television, and she focuses on an upcoming project with Berlanti Productions.
The Cleaning Lady: Looking At The Numbers For Season 4
The Live + Same Day ratings for The Cleaning Lady in Season 3 were up 131% for 3.6 million multi-platform viewers, while linear ratings were down.
Season 4 financials are expected to enhance, with solid international revenue, and this probably made the Season 4 renewal an easier thing to ink.
Still, past reports did indicate that The Cleaning Lady was expected to renew as negotiations were on the table. Having said that, talks between the show’s co-producing studio WBTV and Fox, were ongoing for weeks.
The episode count was one of the last things that needed to be ironed out, as a number of networks have issues with full seasons these days, even before the strikes, thanks to budgets.
Other Fox series like Lone Star and 9-1-1 will return in the fall, after not being on the spring 2024 schedule, and much like The Cleaning Lady, they have 12 epis, instead of the traditional 18. It is unknown as of this writing if the episode count will increase.
The Cleaning Lady: When Will Season 4 Debut?
Along with Alert: Missing Persons Unit, The Cleaning Lady aired shows after the Hollywood strikes were over, for the 2023-2024 season. When Fox released its fall 2024 schedule, The Cleaning Lady was notably absent. Still, now with renewal news, fans should expect to see it return sometime in 2025.
