In tonight’s The Equalizer episode, Mark Jamison was a controversial figure. He was a major climate change denier. He was so major because people kept giving him a platform and one of those were going to be in NYC.

Delilah heard about it. She was angry that he would be allowed to spew his crap. Especially when there’s so much evidence against it. She wanted to go to the protest.

Her family warned her that it might dangerous. She could do or say the wrong thing and have it on the internet forever. They didn’t think Delilah should take that risk.

It wasn’t like how it used to be either of their days. Social media as well as smart phones changed that for the worst. And Delilah went anyways because she had to learn that lesson the hard way.

Robyn didn’t go with her to the protest. She was contacted by a new client. His name is Mike Chen. He was a sleeper MSS agent from China.

He got tapped to go to school in the United States when he was in his teens. It’s been twenty years since he heard from his government when out of the nowhere they called him.

They wanted him to come to a meeting. He was supposed to go, but a lot has happened in twenty years. He became a physicist. He married an American. They have a son together. He loves his life in America now.

Chen didn’t want to give that up or betray the United States. He never went to that meeting. He thought that would be it and instead he’d been poisoned. He doesn’t know with what.

He couldn’t go to the hospital because then he would have come clean about why his own government was trying to kill him.

Plus, the hospital would run tests that they didn’t have time for. They wouldn’t know what they’re facing. Chen doesn’t even know what poisoned him. He hired Robyn because he needs her. He needs her to stop the attack against the United States. And if possible, save his life.

They needed to identify the poison. They could then check if there was an antidote. Mike’s family also had to be told. His wife didn’t take it so well.

She questioned him about everything. She wondered if he really loved her or if she was to help sell his American story. She also asked him if he was actually a physicist. Chen tried to defend himself only he was getting worse. He needed to be looked at by a doctor. Robyn brought him to her ex-husband, Miles. Miles was a doctor. He could even be trustworthy every now and then.

Miles doesn’t like Robyn’s line of work. He wants her to be firmly retired. He still does dangerous things. He was just trying to curtail her because he thought their daughter was her problem. In spite of that, Robyn still took Chen to see Miles. Miles was treating him while the others were getting evidence.

They were trying to find out who poisoned the man. They tracked down the MSS Agent that followed Chen that day. They also saw that he was meeting with Chen’s wife, Amy. Amy it seems might also be a sleeper agent.

Amy’s father was a Communist. He got blackballed. He died young from heart failure. Amy took up his cause and she majored in Communism. She also took a trip to China while she was in college. She must have gotten tapped to turn against her country there. She’s exactly their type.

She was angry at America for her father’s treatment. She wanted revenge and the Chinese offered to give her that. She’s the one that broke into her husband’s high security lab. She stole a powerful magnifier. Robyn saw her escape and she didn’t know it was Amy until Harry and Mel put the pieces together.

Amy matched the body type of the person that broke into the lab. It was needed because the Chinese have a geneticist on their payroll. They were trying to make a bioweapon that could attack anyone as long as they had their DNA. The Chinese had stolen the DNA of all the VIPs staying at a fancy hotel.

They now just have to build the poison. Something that Chen was supposed to help with until he refused to show up at the meeting. Anyways, his wife was willing to do what he refused because she wanted to trade it for the antidote to save her husband’s life.

Amy came clean about everything after she was double-crossed for the antidote. She was told to approach Mike Chen in college. She was supposed to keep him in line. She started out as that and she fell in love along the way. She no longer was going to help the Chinese. They had started a good life in America.

It helped Amy to put away her anger. Then her husband gets poisoned. She reached out to the agent that did it because she wanted to negotiate for the cure. He got the special lens from her and gave her nothing in return. Robyn found them. She lost Shang. She got Amy.

Amy came clean about everything. She doesn’t care about revenge anymore. She just wants to save her husband’s life. She told Robyn that Yun Shang carries around the antidote in a small briefcase. He was going to escape onto a private plane with it when Robyn stopped him. She got the antidote. She gave it to Chen.

She also told him that he needs to talk to his wife. Amy had also been poisoned during that double-cross. She was told to kill her husband and she refuse do it. The Chinese figured they might as well as kill her. And Robyn didn’t get enough antidote for both Chen and his wife.

Amy forced her husband to take the antidote. She did it knowing she would die. She wouldn’t have had a good life even if she took it. She would have gone to prison for betraying her country. Chen and their son could start over without her. And so they spent their final moments together as a family.

And Delilah got arrested at the protest when it turned violent. She didn’t do anything only she was separated from her Aunt Vi and she was calling her when the cops figured they might as well arrest her. Aunt Vi called Detective Dante. He got Delilah out of jail. They returned home to find a very upset Robyn.

Robyn admires Delilah for standing by her principles, but she wants her to be safe. Detective Dante couldn’t save her forever. Delilah has to start thinking about her safety. Delilah’s dad also stopped by the house. Miles caught the bug and now he wants to help Robyn be the Equalizer.

THE END!
