In tonight’s The Equalizer episode, the return of Detective Marcus Dante had Robyn second-guessing her decisions. The two of them were close to starting something when he took the job offer in LA. It was either that or his career would be over. Robyn didn’t hold his decision against him.

She knew he wouldn’t have left her under any other circumstances. He was only back in New York now because his father needed him. His father had been in a coma for months and the doctors called him recently to tell him that Big Ben’s health was getting worse. He returned to be at his dad’s side for what he thought was the end. And his father surprised them all by recovering.

Where Dante had Robyn second guessing herself, was her rekindling things with her ex-husband. Robyn got out of her situationship with Dante the same time her ex got out of his second marriage.

They were both older. Wiser. They share a daughter and so they thought about getting back together. They were taking small steps towards that when Dante came back. Robyn remembered how much she still cares for him. She questioned herself about why she really was spending time with Miles.

Robyn doesn’t really know what she wants. She often throws herself into work so that she doesn’t have to deal with her emotions. Robyn was contacted by Craig Harris’s wife, Shauna. There was an attempt on Craig’s life. He was a comedian. Someone tried to run him down on the street after a show.

The team checked surveillance cameras. They saw that the car did aim for Craig and so its weird that he didn’t want to press charges or pursuing any kind of litigation. Craig just wanted to drop it. He told his wife to let it go. She couldn’t and that’s why she reached out to the vigilante.

Robyn realized the only way to get answers was to confront Craig. She found him right as he was pulling out of a parking spot. Robyn couldn’t get him to talk and she saw that someone cut his brakes.

Luckily, Craig crashed into water barrels. He wasn’t hurt. He was also finally talking. Robyn asked who would want to kill him and Craig said they were doing it because he asked them to. Craig’s career was recovering after years of stalling out. He hit it big for a while and then the pandemic kicked in. He couldn’t do shows. He was using up all of their savings.

The turning point was when his son got injured. Craig didn’t have enough money to pay off the medical bill. Then he got the idea. He has life insurance. He could kill himself without committing suicide. It would set his family up for the rest of their lives. It will also repay all the loans he got from his friends.

Which was why Craig asked his friends to kill him. They seemed offended when he first asked. Craig forgot all about it and he started crawling his way back to the top. He was doing so well nowadays that he was going to change his life insurance policy.

He was going to change it the next week. He didn’t get around to it because that’s when people started trying to kill him. The new life insurance policy will cut his friends out of getting any kind of repayment. Craig thought was fine because he thought they were truly his friends. He forgets that he bankrupted one friend.

He stole both of his wives from another friend. He also got the third friend in trouble with the law over a stupid prank. Craig was hated by his friends. They all wanted him dead. They also tried again to kill him.

They poisoned food that came from Craig’s favorite restaurant. Robyn and the newly returned Mel quickly traced the poisoning to the friend named Trey. Trey was the one that Craig bankrupted. Craig went on Howard Stern and he badmouthed Trey’s new business by calling it stupid publicly.

Trey’s other backs pulled out after that. He had to get a loan from shady people and those people want repayment. It was either him or Craig at that point. Trey got arrested for his attempt only he didn’t commit the other two.

Harry suspected one of those attempts was by Craig’s first wife, Markesha. Craig turned her into a joke. He says “See You, Markesha” after he openly mocks her and it hurt her career for a while.

Markesha was a relationship expert. People didn’t want to go to her when Craig first started mocking her. Markesha had to climb her way back and that was thanks to Craig’s career stalling. She has a bestselling book now. She didn’t want to go back to being a joke. She tracked down Craig at the safehouse and attacked him while he was in his car.

Besides trying to kill him in the car, the team later learned that Markesha has an alibi for the other attempts. She heard about people trying to kill him and she wanted to join in. Craig was so depressed after Robyn saved him from Markesha that he wanted to end things. He sought to finish his career.

He hurt so many people with his humor and so many people wanted him dead. He realized that he was the problem. He went back to the comedy club. He was going to announce his retirement when he accidentally angered that the man that was trying to kill him.

Craig’s career picked up when he got asked to join a comedy tour. He was a last minute replacement. The comedian he replaced was kicked out and he didn’t want to wait for another opportunity.

He felt he’d go back on tour if he killed Craig. He tried to kill Craig a third time at the club. Robyn and Mel showed up. They saved Craig’s life. Craig still took a bullet to the shoulder and he was fine otherwise. He also now realizes he needs to be kinder to the people in his lives. He was going to try and fix things with his friends. And Dante was going try to fix things with his father.

Dante’s mother was finally divorcing Big Ben. Dante was taking care of his dad on his own. He could reach out to his half-brother for help and the only reason he wasn’t doing that because he wasn’t ready to open that can of worms.

And Aunt Vi had a biopsy done on a lump in her breasts. There was no cancer found and she celebrated with Robyn. They also received even further great news when Dee realized she wanted to attend a historical black college or university.

THE END!
