Ever since the news broke about a fresh addition to CBS’ daytime lineup, fans have been excited about all the drama to come. The Gates is a brand-new soap that’ll be hitting the screen as 2025 kicks off, but big things are already happening behind the scenes.
At this point, we’re less than two months away from the show’s filming start date in Atlanta. TV Insider is reporting that The Gates will begin taping their first episodes on November 4.
The show’s already been busy casting plenty of characters, but let’s look at a few new descriptions for roles they still need to fill.
For starters, there’s Allison, a Black twenty-something who’s a spoiled brat due to her upbringing.
Allison’s parents coddled their miracle baby and caused her to become entitled, but it looks like her life’s about to change and force her to reevaluate.
The Gates is also looking to cast someone for the character of Armand, a Black male in his mid-30s.
Although Armand lost both of his parents in a tragic plane crash, this freelance photographer puts their wealth to good use with his charitable donations.
However, Armand also has a mysterious side and seems to be quite the ladies’ man, so he could prove to be a real heartbreaker!
Cheryl is another character that the show needs to cast as they prepare to start filming.
It turns out Cheryl is a Black fashion model in her early 20s, but modeling isn’t really her passion.
Cheryl has other aspirations when it comes to building her brand and appears to be poised for a drug addiction story based on her description.
The Gates also needs a white male in his mid-30s to play Rick, a hunky fireman who’s a risk-taker and hopes to become a family man.
Plus, there’s David, a Black thirty-something male who grew up in a law enforcement family and is carrying on legacy himself.
Davis has a wife and tends to get a little too personally invested in certain cases, particularly the ones involving kids and teens.
Finally, The Gates is looking for a white actress in her mid-30s to play Katie, a caring nurse who’s excellent at what she does and has a real desire to help those in need.
It sounds like some intriguing characters will be part of the show when it finally makes its debut, so stick with us for more story predictions and any major casting updates.
