In tonight’s The Good Doctor episode, Dr. Aaron Glassman slept with someone last night. He unfortunately slept with Audrey Lim’s mom. This was going to complicate things. Yet, Aaron wasn’t worried about that. He really liked Eileen. She makes him laugh. She makes him feel young again.

Eileen also decided not to hide things from her daughter. She told Audrey all about her night. She sang Aaron’s praises. She said their relationship was just sex and that she planned on going back home after her clinical trial was over. And so Aaron wasn’t going to be Audrey’s stepdad or anything.

It just left them feeling awkward about being co-presidents. Audrey had handled a board meeting for Aaron. He was supposed to be retuning the favor by taking her mom shopping and he ended up doing more than that. Audrey was more freaked out than worried. This whole thing has left her feeling uncomfortable.

It was only fair that she passed that on. She talked to Shaun. She made Shaun agree to take Charlie as a resident again. Charlie has to be on his rotation or he could opt out of being a teacher and lose half his salary.

Anyways, Shaun agreed to accept Charlie on his rotation. He was advised to do a compliment sandwich when dealing with her. He will tell her two compliments and a lecture between the compliments. It was a nice open face sandwich. Shaun didn’t think he could find compliments.

He struggled with that all day. He then spoke to his wife. She reminded him that he could simply ignore Charlie. It’s not like she has enough power to make a decision on a patient without him. He could ignore her until he can’t.

Shaun and Lea were sleeping training their baby. If he can ignore their son’s crying, he could ignore Charlie’s constant talking. Shaun tried to do that. He ignored Charlie as they treated an obese teenager. The girl was fourteen and she was over hundred pound overweight.

She was suffering from a fatty liver. She could keeping go where she’s been going and die slowly or she could have a gastric sleeve. They talked the teenager and her mom into agreeing to the gastric sleeve. They were going to put the surgery together when suddenly the two ladies changed their mind.

They spoke to Charlie. Charlie explained all the things that could go wrong in the surgery. There were so many things on that list and most of them sounded lethal because Charlie didn’t say how unlikely they were. She simply read from the list. She didn’t discuss anything.

Now the patient was refusing surgery. She could die and it would have been Charlie’s fault. Shaun tried everything with Charlie. Nothing stuck. Charlie was constantly making mistakes around Shaun and Shaun has had enough of her.

Sure, Shaun made some mistakes too. He called the patient morbidly obese to her face. He was dealing with a teenage girl and he should have been kinder about it. But Shaun had to fix Charlie’s mistake. He spoke with mother and daughter again. He told her that risk of death was less than one percent.

Charlie was in the room and she helped them to see the surgery was necessary. She doesn’t have a problem with food only she does have a problem with her brain because she was neurodivergent. And so she knows what it means to be labeled different.

Charlie convinced both ladies to agree to the surgery. The teenager needed help. This will save her life and it wasn’t the only important moment. Park treated an elderly man that came in with a young fiancé. Everyone assumed she was a gold-digger. She wasn’t. She’s the one with money.

She’s a hotshot lawyer and her fiancé is a teacher. The handsome older guy didn’t have money to his name. He also lost one wife before and so he wasn’t ready to lose another. Which was important because of what happened later. The guy came in because he had a nasty fall and it was bad enough to need surgery.

After his surgery was over, his fiancé started to feel ill. She was vomiting and passing out. They ran some tests on her and they found out she has Stage 3 ovarian cancer. She had complained of back pain to her doctor a couple of months back. The doctor said it was nothing.

He didn’t check her for anything else and that’s why her cancer has progressed to this extent. Now she wants to get married while she still can. They hadn’t set a wedding date because one of them had to convert to Judaism. And so Asher helped get the conversion moving.

It happened in time for there to be a wedding at the hospital. Asher has been running from his Jewish identity since he came out as a gay. Only there were seem pretty open-minded rabbis out there now. Asher spoke with one and he got to witness a beautiful ceremony.

He also thought about marrying Jerome. They were all at the wedding when the teenager’s surgery went south. There was a problem and Shaun was trying to figure out what it was when Charlie just kept talking. She even moved around the medical tools used for surgery. Shaun had to kick her out of the OR for talking too much.

The surgery was a success because Shaun figured it out. He then tried to file a complaint against her and she beat him to it. She filed a complaint first.

Audrey meanwhile learned an important lesson. She learned that her mom was interesting. She saw her mom as a homemaker and she wrote her off. She ran from having the same lifestyle as her mom. Then she spoke with Aaron. She heard that her mom was interesting and so that compelled to talk to her mom. And her mom had a true partnership with Audrey’s dad.

Something that Audrey never really got to see.

Asher meanwhile was walking away after helping a Rabbi when he got bashed for being Gay.

THE END!
