Officer John Nolan’s wedding didn’t go off smoothly. There was a lot leading up to it. His son Henry’s flight got cancelled because the airline went bankrupt and he was left without a flight in time to catch the wedding. He called Bailey to tell her when she came up with a plan. She told him that he could hop onto the bullet train. He could catch a flight from another city and still make the wedding. Henry agreed to it because he wanted to support his dad. All that he asked was that they didn’t tell his dad about the cancelled flight. Bailey didn’t mind. The less that Nolan had to worry about the better because he was a worry wort.
Nolan didn’t take the curse of the last shift seriously. He almost died several times. He’s now a believer in curses and he still played around with the one about weddings. He got so busy rearranging the wedding that he forgot about deposition before a judge. Nolan was being sued by Oscar Hutchinson. Yes, that Oscar. The one that tried to stage a breakout. The one that’s killed people. He’s hurt so many that people tried to kill him when he was donating a kidney and he wanted to sue Nolan for the bodily harm he received before that happened.
Oscar also hired Monica to be his new lawyer. The bloodthirsty creature of the night had found someone colder than even her. Oscar’s new lawyer wanted to drag this lawsuit out as long as possible. Nolan was stuck with her as well as Oscar when the hits kept coming. Henry missed the train. Their wedding planner was going through a crisis. She found out her girlfriend was cheating on her at the same that her assistant quit. This after she told the almost wedded couple that the new venue changes things.
They couldn’t do a small family wedding at such a beautiful place as Aaron’s family’s garden. They had to increase their budget. They had to get better flowers. Better decorations. Plus, better food or everything they have would like crap in such a beautiful place. They also had to check in with the DJ. Nolan made it out of his deposition in time to talk to the DJ. It proved to be a problem because the guy was selling drugs, bragging about stealing from stores, and had an illegal switch blade. Nolan had to arrest him.
Nolan couldn’t call it in because he didn’t have his phone. Monica demanded his phone because she claimed it would prove the unjust treatment of her client. No good will come from that load of crap. Monica wanted an officer’s phone because she was planning something with a much better client. Nolan left his phone with Wesley because he knew better than to trust Monica. He then had to arrest his DJ. He at least didn’t have to arrest his own brother. Pete couldn’t make it to the wedding. He has over six thousand dollars in parking tickets.
Pete knew he couldn’t show up at a cop’s wedding after that. He instead left his brother duties to Skip Tracer Randy. Randy tried to arrest Pete. He didn’t go through with it once he heard that Pete was Nolan’s brother. He and Pete worked out an agreement. Pete stays away. Randy throws Nolan the bachelor party. Randy also got kissing lessons from Pete’s girlfriend. The last one wasn’t a part of their original deal, but he and Chasity hit it off on the trip to LA. And its great that Chasity came because she was a great help.
The bakers dropped off their wedding cake a day early because they were closed on the big day. They didn’t mention that when Bailey hired them. Bailey also agreed to a wedding cake that she and Nolan could both eat. Which wasn’t coconut. Nolan was deadly allergic to coconut. The baker dropped off a coconut cake. Bailey had to use her bachelorette party as a baking party. They had to come up with a new cake in one night. Officer Lucy Chen missed out on the baking party because she had strapped her boyfriend to a lie detector test.
Lucy and Tim got into a huge fight last week. It was the first real test of their relationship. Lucy thought a lie detector test would help them resolve their issues. She learned that Tim really does love her. He got that right. He’s been secretly killing the bugs she finds in her apartment and that she told him to let free outside. Her third question was the big one. She asked him if he wanted her to become an undercover detective. He said yes. This proved to be a lie. Tim does have a problem with it because he’s secretly still traumatized from his ex-wife and her days undercover.
Lucy wasn’t angry with Tim. She just wanted him to admit the trauma to himself. Then the wedding finally came about. The minister was stuck in a different city and so Sergent Grey officiated the wedding because he didn’t want Randy to do it. Henry showed up in time. They found a wedding band in time. It all came together for a beautiful ceremony. It was heartfelt. It moved everyone. It was even a short ceremony. Grey only stepped in to officially announce them as a married couple. And Grey also used his detective skills to figure out what his wife was doing when she was pretending to be at book club.
Luna Grey has started some night classes. She wanted to finish her degree in Social Work. She didn’t tell her husband because she didn’t think she would last through the semester and she surprised herself by coming in top of her class. She was about to graduate and everything. She wanted to start working in hospitals. She loves volunteering there. She had needed something for herself after they became empty nesters. And her husband was proud of her.
Celina was also warned at the baking party to distance herself from Aaron. They went through something horrible together and he might be attaching himself to her to deal with the pain. Celina had ignored Detective Harper’s warning. She thought she had everything handled. Then Aaron kissed her at the reception. She let him know she wasn’t interested. They were just friends. She knew he had misconstrued her intentions with their friendship. She went for a walk to get away from awkwardness.
Celina got a call for a low level drug dealer that she tried to flip earlier. Celina thought she could still close the case and so she went to him in spite of not telling anyone. Not even Nolan. Or Harper who was her trainer while Nolan was off duty. Celina later called Harper when she was surrounded and was about to get taken. Her alert came in handy to be helpful. The whole wedding party went out to look for her after the call. Aaron couldn’t come because he got drunk after Celina rejected him. Chasity stayed with him to help get some coffee into his system.
The wedding guests saved Celina. They saved her informant as well. Nolan returned home to find his new bride was too hungover to finish packing for their honeymoon. And so they both took a nap.
