The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that the Daytime Emmy nominations were recently announced, so fans are still cheering on their favorites who scored noms and ranting about those who didn’t.
Many Y&R viewers have been speaking out about Colleen Zenk (Jordan) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) getting snubbed since their names weren’t anywhere on the nomination list.
Of course, actors don’t always submit their scenes, so some people wondered if maybe that was the case with Zenk.
Others thought maybe Zenk wasn’t eligible due to the timing of her stint, but she replied to someone on social media to clear things up.
When one fan pointed out that these nominations were for performances in 2023, they argued that Zenk wasn’t on the show then and wouldn’t qualify.
However, Zenk actually did air toward the end of 2023, so she clarified that and confirmed that she indeed threw her hat in the ring.
“Actually, I started airing on Nov. 17, 2023. My last ’23 airdate was Dec. 26th. I did submit. Pass it along! And I am thrilled for all of my #yr family!” Zenk said on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
Zenk’s performance wasn’t deemed worthy of a Daytime Emmy nomination for whatever reason, but she’s still earned plenty of fans with her incredibly entertaining portrayal of Jordan.
It’s hard to hate Jordan since she’s just so delightfully deranged and a total blast to watch.
That’s all because of Colleen Zenk and the enthusiastic commitment she puts into this wild role.
Since Zenk’s stint has spilled over into 2024, she’ll have a lot more material if she wants to submit for next year’s Daytime Emmys and try again.
Perhaps Zenk will score a nomination and even a win once her best work is eligible to compete.
Regardless, it’s clear that Zenk is happily rooting for her other co-stars who got nominated and celebrating all Y&R’s noms overall.
