The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, July 12, reveals that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will realize he’s holding Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) hand following all the positive Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) news, so he’ll drop it.
Chelsea will also hug Adam after the call, but then they’ll both realize that probably isn’t such a good idea.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will arrive to speak with Adam moments later, so Chelsea will exit since she’ll have a Marchetti meeting anyway.
Once Victor pushes Adam to resume leadership at Newman Media, Adam will point out that he still doesn’t know the details.
Victor will explain that he’s Glissade’s secret investor and that he wants to use Newman Media to create some massive buzz.
Newman Media will also be used to go after Glissade’s competition, so Adam will basically wonder what the catch is since all this sounds too reasonable.
On Friday’s Y&R episode, Victor will admit Jabot is included in the competition, so Adam will realize Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) never would’ve agreed to target Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
Although Adam will point out that he respects Jack, Victor won’t care and will basically suggest Adam should always be willing to play dirty – even when it involves someone he likes.
In the end, Adam will agree to sleep on whether he’ll come back to Newman Media and will vow to give Victor his decision in the morning.
At Society, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will seem lost in thought as Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) points out the changes she made to the winter collection.
Summer will eventually focus again since she could use the distraction from all the custody drama.
After Summer admits that Sally has proved herself, she’ll hint about a more permanent position for her at Marchetti.
When Chelsea arrives, she’ll get upset and wonder if Summer is going to give her job to Sally.
However, Summer will pitch a company expansion that involves a new line that’s a bit younger and trendier called Marchetti Z.
Since Summer will consider making Sally the lead designer, Sally and Chelsea will think that sounds great.
Chelsea will also reveal that Connor showed real progress on his latest video chat, so Summer and Sally will be glad over the positive updates.
Once Summer takes off, things will immediately get awkward between Chelsea and Sally, especially after Sally wants to talk about Adam.
Sally will mention watching Adam’s bond with Chelsea and feeling like she wants to step up her game.
Chelsea will assure Sally that Adam appreciates her and is always talking about how wonderful Sally is.
Sally will feel like she should do more and will think she owes Chelsea for the Marchetti gig, but Chelsea will blurt out that Sally really doesn’t.
Chelsea will become increasingly nervous as she flashes back to hitting the sheets with Adam, so Sally will wonder what’s going on – especially after Chelsea tears up. It’ll almost seem like Chelsea is acting guilty according to Sally.
After Chelsea blames her emotional rollercoaster on everything that’s been going on with Connor, Sally will confess that she’s afraid of losing Adam.
Since Adam’s been so heartbroken over Connor, Sally will worry about him still having a piece left for her.
Chelsea will insist Adam loves Sally and will push Sally to stand by him, but she’ll ultimately bolt from the table as the guilt becomes too much to bear.
After Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) finds Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) working afterhours at the GCAC, he’ll convince her to come watch the sunset and have some special tea with him.
Nate will apologize for making it seem like he was doubting Audra, who’ll make an impressive speech about what she brings to table at Glissade as a woman.
Although Nate will claim this isn’t a seduction and that they both need a friend, they’ll still strip down in Audra’s suite later.
Audra will want to make sure they’re on the same page about this just being for fun, so Nate will be on board with that as passion erupts.
