The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, September 20, reveals that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will pick up on Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) frosty encounter with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) at Society.
Once Phyllis joins Billy at the bar and pesters him until he admits the cheating story, she’ll suggest maybe he could forgive Chelsea and give her a chance to make things up to him.
Nearby, Chelsea will tell Adam that they have to talk to Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and make him understand that they’re not getting back together.
Adam will wonder if Chelsea has thought about a reunion, but she’ll insist she hasn’t.
Although Adam will claim he hasn’t either, Chelsea will realize something’s wrong.
Adam will finally admit that he lied since he’s indeed thought about possibly putting their family back together and reuniting as a couple.
Chelsea will shut down that idea and flip out over Adam pushing for this conversation with Billy right across the room.
After Chelsea leaves in a huff, Billy will march over to call Adam an SOB and ask what he’s done now.
At Newman Enterprises on Friday’s Y&R episode, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will continue to argue with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) over his plans for Billy.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will eventually show up looking for advice regarding Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) worsening issues.
After Nick updates Victor, Victoria and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) on his concerns, he’ll feel like he should at least talk to Sharon’s doctor and relay the warning signs he’s seeing.
Victor will express concern for Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) and suggest she should live with Nick for a while, but Nick won’t think cutting his worried daughter off from Sharon is the answer.
However, Nick will appreciate being able to turn to his family for support, so he’ll thank them before taking off.
Although Victor and Nikki will complain about all the stress Sharon has caused for Nick over the years, Victoria will think he’s just looking out for his family.
Once Victoria says she’s going to do the same, she’ll march out Victor’s office door. That’ll leave Victor assuming that Victoria is on her way to warn “Billy Boy.”
In Madison, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will quiz Sharon about where she is over the phone, so Sharon will lie about taking a walk.
After Sharon claims the client postponed the meeting, she’ll suggest she can just meet Mariah back home.
Sharon will hang up, but Mariah will call back moments later. Although Mariah will try to convince Sharon to spend the day together in Madison, Sharon will snap at her for checking up on her.
Sharon will also rant about Nick trying to trap her into a family discussion about her mental health. Ater Sharon blows up about how she can’t live under a microscope, she’ll finally settle down and admit she’s not in Madison.
Sharon will insist she needed a chance to think about her life and what comes next since she can’t keep living this way.
Mariah will grow even more fearful, but Sharon will insist she’s not going to do anything to herself.
That said, Sharon will declare that she’s going off the grid and warn Mariah not to try contacting her.
After Sharon hints that maybe she’ll visit Sedona, she’ll push for some time to herself and will vow to be in touch when she’s ready.
Mariah will call Nick soon after to let him know that Sharon’s Madison story was a lie. Now that Sharon has disappeared, Mariah will be more worried than ever.
Back with Sharon in that rundown motel room, she’ll tear up and fear she shouldn’t have pushed Mariah away.
“Cameron Kirsten” (Linden Ashby) will insist it was the right call before touching Sharon’s face and pushing her to focus on the work they have to do.
