The Young and the Restless Monday, August 12 Recap: Kyle Rejects Summer’s Ultimatum, Adam Forced to Attack Billy

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, August 12, reveals that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will try to work through the tension and do what’s best for Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell).

It’ll seem like the exes are making progress, but then Summer will demand that Kyle cut Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) out of his life completely.

Kyle will refuse to let Summer dictate who he works with and will suggest he’d never do that to her at Marchetti.

Since Kyle won’t be willing to walk away from Glissade, Summer will push him to force Audra out instead.

When Kyle puts up a fight on this whole situation, Summer will act like Kyle’s choosing Audra over Harrison.

Kyle will offer to stick with joint custody if Summer ditches this unreasonable ultimatum, but she’ll stand her ground.

As Kyle storms out, he’ll tell Summer that he’ll see her in court!

In the park, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will give Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) a rose and apologize for being so pushy before she left for Baltimore.

Billy will act like it’s up to Chelsea whether she wants to tell him anything else.

Chelsea will also hear about Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) viewing him as a liability, so Billy will talk about becoming a silent partner.

Since Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) didn’t go for his idea to blame it on her illness, Billy will suggest he’ll need another excuse for his decision to step back.

Chelsea will seem concerned over Lily not appreciating Billy and casting him aside, but he’ll act like this move is for the best.

Billy will eventually mention Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) guard dog moment at the coffeehouse, so Chelsea will insist her ex doesn’t get to decide who her visitors are.

Later, Billy will check out the Abbott-Chancellor logo on the screen at the office and call someone to give the green light on the announcement they talked about.

At Newman Media, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will order Adam to launch a full-scale negative campaign against Billy and rock his boat until it sinks.

There’ll be some talk about the upcoming Abbott-Chancellor announcement, which Victor will assume is about Billy’s expanded role.

Adam will have some reservations about going after Billy since he’s been supportive of Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and attacking Billy would hurt Chelsea, too.

Even so, Victor will be adamant that Adam needs to get this done.

Once Adam is alone, he’ll make a phone call and ask someone to get him intel on the Abbott-Chancellor announcement.

When Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) arrives and learns Victor is trying to get Adam to play dirty, she’ll wonder what his father asked him to do.

When Adam declines to spill on Monday’s Y&R episode, Sally will seem hurt and wonder if he still trusts her.

Adam will try to reassure Sally, but then Chelsea will interrupt under the guise of something related to Connor.

Once Sally leaves, Chelsea blast Adam for trying to block Billy from coming up to her apartment.

Adam will act like he was trying to help Chelsea avoid another interrogation, but he’ll know Chelsea feels guilty and will ask if she plans to come clean.

At the GCAC, Victor will once again lash out at Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) for thinking he knew best in that plot with Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck), but Michael will defend the need to get Jordan (Colleen Zenk) out of that dungeon.

When Michael asks what it’s going to take to make amends, Victor will hint that there’s something he could do.

It turns out Victor will want Michael to get him some dirt on Billy, so he’ll give Michael updates on his new mission.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor’s scheme against Billy will lead to alarming news, so we’ll bring you predictions on all the mayhem!
