The Young and the Restless Monday, December 2 Recap: Sharon Asks to Skip Trial & Go Straight to Prison, Kyle Accepts Jabot Offer

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, December 2, reveals that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will fuss over Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and make sure she’s comfortable as they sit at Crimson Lights.

When Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) arrives, Summer will try to stop Phyllis from provoking her and act like they don’t know what she’s capable of.

However, Phyllis will argue that she knows exactly what Sharon is capable of – though she won’t be scared of her.

After Phyllis rages over Sharon’s attempt to drive her off the road and shut her up, she’ll refuse to let Sharon harm her family again.

There’ll be plenty of ranting about Sharon eliminating Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom), framing Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) and scaring Summer with Phyllis’ close call.

Sharon will express remorse and act like she’s ready to accept responsibility, but Phyllis will think those are empty words.

Phyllis will warn that Sharon had better hope she gets locked up for her crimes since she’ll take justice into her own hands otherwise.

When Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) shows up, he’ll snap at Phyllis and insist that’s enough.

Phyllis will argue that Sharon doesn’t need Michael as her lawyer if she’s going to plead guilty and take responsibility like she claims she wants to do.

Michael will contend that he’s still going to be Sharon’s attorney regardless, so Phyllis will ultimately stomp off with Summer.

In the aftermath, Sharon will tell Michael that she thinks Phyllis is right about accepting responsibility, so she’ll want to plead guilty to all charges, skip the trial and go straight to prison.

In the park, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will be mulling over all his family drama when Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) finds him and seeks updates on where his head is at.

Claire will give Kyle a chance to talk through his issues regarding Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), but she’ll basically point out that they weren’t faking their love and heartbreak.

At Society, Jack and Diane will approach Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) while he’s dining with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), so they’ll make it clear that they’re happy and very much in love.

That’ll lead to some jabs about Victor’s Glissade deception and who did the most damage to Kyle.

Victor will get the feeling that Diane and Jack are trying to get to the bottom of his motives, so he’ll wish them luck with that.

When Victor questions if Jack and Diane were carrying out a charade all along, Jack will also wish him luck when it comes to figuring out motives.

Once Victor and Nikki leave, Jack will let Diane in on a secret.

It turns out Jack was the one who bought up all the Glissade divisions that Victor was in such a hurry to sell.

Jack had someone snatch them up for pennies on the dollar, so Diane will be pleased to hear that Glissade is whole and Victor didn’t get the last laugh.

As for Kyle, Jack will remain hopeful that he’s going to come around and that this whole mess will be behind them by Christmas.

At Chancellor on Monday’s Y&R episode, Victor will accompany Nikki and compliment how she’s personalized her office.

Nikki will assure Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) that she can remain their receptionist before Victor proudly snaps pics of Nikki behind her desk.

Later, Kyle will speak with Diane alone at the Abbott mansion, so they’ll rehash everything that happened.

Diane will tearfully talk about how she’d give up anything to save Kyle, even if it meant losing his love.

Fortunately, Kyle will have good news soon after.

As Kyle, Claire, Jack and Diane all gather in the living room, Kyle will admit he understands why his parents went to extremes – though he still won’t condone their reckless actions.

Once Kyle confesses that maybe he gave Diane and Jack no choice, he’ll acknowledge that he made a lot of mistakes, too.

Kyle will want to try moving past the hard feelings and will accept the offer to return to Jabot as Jack’s co-CEO.

Diane will give Kyle a grateful hug before Jack shakes his hand and hugs him as well.
