The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, July 22, reveals that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will run into Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) in the park, so they’ll discuss their concerns about Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) being on edge.
Billy will suspect that something happened in Baltimore, so he’ll speculate that things were worse than they let on with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) or that Adam did something to stress Chelsea out.
At Newman Media, Chelsea will show up and admit to Adam that she nearly told Billy the truth.
Adam will remind Chelsea that it affects both their relationships if she comes clean, but Chelsea will suggest maybe Billy would be willing to keep their hookup a secret.
Adam won’t buy that idea at all, so he’ll push Chelsea to keep quiet – especially since Connor would blame himself if he found out they blew up their relationships because of his ordeal.
At Crimson Lights, Sally will find Chelsea and ask if something bad happened in Baltimore.
Chelsea will act like it was just the Connor stuff that Sally already knows and will rush off to avoid answering too many questions.
In the park, Chelsea will struggle to breathe and clutch her chest like she’s having a panic attack.
Back in Adam’s office, Billy will show up and grill him about Baltimore next, so Adam will lie that he lashed out at Chelsea while they were drunk and said some things he regrets.
Adam will make it seem like he needed someone to blame and took it out on Chelsea, so Billy will be outraged over that news.
That said, Billy will at least appreciate Adam’s honesty and will give him some advice about being lucky to have Sally.
Once Billy exits, Adam will flash back to hitting the sheets with Chelsea, so he’ll look distracted as Sally arrives to quiz him.
At the GCAC, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will catch up with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and basically accuse Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) of being a gold digger who’s always had an agenda, so Jack will storm out on their discussion.
Although Nikki will try to patch things up with Jack at Jabot, there’ll still be tension between them.
At the coffeehouse, Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) will be excited over the pool party Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) said she could tag along to.
When Lucy approaches Faith and her friend, Miriam (Isabella Dake), she’ll ask about the details and face a crushing blow.
Faith will backtrack on letting Lucy come since there’s a strict head count and there’s probably going to be alcohol around.
Although Lucy will act like she understands, she’ll be visibly disappointed.
Lucy will also pretend she’s still invited to the party when she meets back up with Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei).
At Society, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will get updates on Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) suddenly canceling her Portugal trip with Daniel and Lucy, so she’ll fear Heather and Daniel are having problems again.
Heather will insist that’s not the case, but Phyllis will still worry about Daniel since he’s lost everything and could spin out again.
Once Heather defends the new-and-improved Daniel, she’ll push Phyllis to have more faith in both of them.
When Lucy arrives with Daniel, she’ll tell her parents that she needs to get ready for the party and will get a warning not to drink or do anything else she shouldn’t do.
As Lucy exits on Monday’s Y&R episode, she’ll look troubled as she presumably continues to dwell on being uninvited to the bash.
