The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, July 22, reveal that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will remain uneasy about Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) vague assurances. Victor claims there’ll still be a place for Adam after Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) returns to work, but he’s been cagey about the details.
That’s why Adam basically threatened Nikki into helping him get to the bottom of things.
Adam tried to frame it as a suggestion, but he hinted about fighting to hang onto Newman Media if Nikki refused to cooperate.
Nikki isn’t the type to go along with Adam’s demands, but she may admit she’d like to know more about Victor’s intentions, too.
It looks like Adam and Nikki will ambush Victor in his office to push for answers on Monday’s Y&R episode.
Since Adam isn’t going to let this go and will have Nikki backing him up, he’ll force a confession out of Victor.
Perhaps Victor will decide to shut Adam up so his son can focus on the important work that needs to be done.
However, Adam won’t be expecting Victor’s shocking news.
Victor will offer updates on a new company he’s acquiring – one that’s almost at the same level as Newman Enterprises in terms of size and power.
It turns out Victor will want Nikki to run this company, so she’ll respond with suspicion and annoyance.
Nikki may think this sounds shady and point out that it’s not what Victor originally pitched.
Victor previously insisted Nikki could return to Newman Media once her recovery was far enough along.
Now Victor will be shifting gears again and trying to leave Adam in charge of Newman Media permanently.
Of course, Victor often changes his mind when better deals and options come along, so he’ll insist this is what he wants.
As far as Victor’s concerned, Adam can keep leading Newman Media into the future while Nikki rises to the challenge as CEO of another powerhouse.
Will that work for Adam or will he be jealous of Nikki’s new gig? Regardless, Nikki will complain about Victor’s latest curveball and suspect he’s up to something.
If Victor is targeting Abbott-Chancellor for a takeover, that’s something Nikki will surely object to.
Nevertheless, Victor might clam up on the rest of the story and insist he’s offered enough details for now.
Later, Adam may have another crisis to contend with. Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) might flip out all over again and admit she nearly told Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) the truth about cheating on him.
Adam could easily express relief and remind Chelsea of how much they BOTH have to lose here.
If Chelsea comes clean to Billy, she’ll be ruining Adam’s relationship with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) as well.
This might be a good time for Chelsea and Adam to revisit their pact of silence, so we’ll see if they have another hush-hush conversation soon.
Y&R’s preview video for the week of July 22-26 also features Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) asking Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) to marry him, so that’s something else to look forward to.
