The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, September 23, reveals that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will keep pushing Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) for answers about what he did to upset Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan).
Adam will think Billy forfeited the right to be Chelsea’s protector when he left her, so Billy will lunge forward to grab him.
After Adam decks Billy, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will convince Billy to walk away from the confrontation.
Back at the office, Phyllis will give Billy ice for his lip and will suggest his passionate response is proof that he still cares for Chelsea.
Phyllis will think Billy wants to forgive Chelsea for cheating and will contend that he’s just too stubborn to do it.
However, Billy will make it clear that Chelsea hurt him and that he’s not getting over it anytime soon.
Over with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), she’ll get some advice from Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) about following her mother’s intuition.
Victoria will realize she has to warn Billy and push for a peaceful solution to protect the kids.
Next on Monday’s Y&R episode, Victoria will stop by Billy’s office and get the news about Phyllis’ new COO role.
Once Phyllis steps out, Victoria will express concern over Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) coming after Billy and will present her idea of letting Victor buy him out at Chancellor.
That way, Billy can create a new Abbott empire of his own.
Billy will balk at that proposal and wonder if Victoria is actually working with Victor to sabotage him, but she’ll insist she’s protecting the children.
The last thing Victoria would want is for Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) or Katie Abbott (Sienna Mercuri) to watch their grandfather destroy their father or feel like they have to choose sides.
Billy will think it’s wrong for Victoria to assume he’s going to fail against Victor, so she’ll leave without making any progress.
Phyllis will pop back up and hear about the buyout offer, but Billy will insist he can’t bow down Victor and will fully intend to fight back.
That’ll be exactly what Phyllis wants to hear, so she’ll be 100 percent with Billy on this.
In the park, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will trash Adam for betraying Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), who’ll worry she may never fall in love again.
Audra will act like not caring can be a blessing and will tout the benefits of revenge.
Sally will argue that revenge is actually just another way of caring – though she’ll insist going after revenge on Adam and Chelsea isn’t something she wants to do.
Even so, Audra will seem intrigued when she learns Sally and Billy have been bonding. Although Audra will hint about a revenge hookup, Sally will argue that it’s not happening.
At Crimson Lights, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will sense that Chelsea is upset, so she’ll offer to lend an ear. Chelsea will admit she broke up with Billy and that it’s all her fault.
Once Chelsea shares how Billy took all the blame when he talked to Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), Summer won’t be so sure that things have to be over between them for good.
When Adam appears, Summer will suspect he might’ve had something to do with Chelsea’s split from Adam, but she won’t be pushy about details.
Adam will ask to speak with Chelsea privately, so he’ll sit down with her and apologize for making her uncomfortable earlier.
Although Adam will want a chance to explain, Chelsea will warn him to let it go before stomping off.
