The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, February 23, reveals that Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) will approach Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) at the GCAC and comment on all the time he spends there.
Tucker will push Nate’s buttons and make it seem like he’s obsessed with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), but Nate will act like he’s just looking out for her.
Although Tucker will express concern about Nate distracting Audra, he’ll make it clear that he won’t allow Nate to come between them.
Tucker won’t consider Nate a formidable adversary, but Nate will suggest they’ll just have to see how things shake down.
After Audra witnesses part of the confrontation, she’ll corner Nate and push him to back off.
Audra won’t think Nate can understand her relationship with Tucker, so he’ll finally relent and act like she can deal with this on her own.
Once Nate exits, Tucker will hint to Audra that Nate seems more fixated on her than she realizes. Audra will downplay it and seem more concerned about why Tucker seems out of sorts.
After Audra brings up Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) strange comments about how the dynamic is changing, she’ll question Tucker about why Ashley would say that.
Tucker will flash back to his conversation with Ashley about her epiphany, but he won’t share that news with Audra.
At the Abbott mansion, Ashley will admit to Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) that the friend she talked to in Paris was a psychologist – not one she’s ever seen professionally, but someone she felt comfortable sharing the situation with.
Ashley will admit this psychologist brought up a lot of the same points as Traci regarding why Tucker would bribe a whole restaurant to sell his version of events.
However, the real game-changer for Ashley was the psychologist’s suggestion that Tucker is a narcissist and that he’d want to get a positive outcome out of all this.
Ashley will confess that she saw no benefit to Tucker scheming to make his side of the story seem real.
That’s why Ashley decided she must’ve imagined that the fight was more aggressive to steer herself away from her marriage to Tucker.
Ashley will feel like she owed Tucker the truth and will insist she doesn’t blame him for being skeptical over her sudden turnaround.
Traci will question what this means for Ashley’s relationship with Tucker, but she won’t have the answers.
That said, Ashley will know that the dynamic has to change and will feel good about letting all the pain and anger go.
Traci will seem pensive as Ashley heads upstairs, so she’ll text Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) about Ashley being home and safe.
After Traci adds that everything seems to have changed, she’ll tell Jack that they need to talk.
At the ranch on Friday’s Y&R episode, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will meet with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) to ask about the strings he’d have to pull to get Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) released.
Michael will have concerns about Victor pulling Claire out of the psych ward too soon and putting her at risk of a setback with this Jordan (Colleen Zenk) plot.
When Michael asks whether Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) approve, Victor will feel certain that they will once the plan is successful.
Victor will also feel confident that he can keep Claire safe and provide excellent care on the outside, so Michael will finally agree to do some legal maneuvering and try to make this happen.
Meanwhile, Cole and Victoria will visit Claire’s room, where she’ll be playing cards with Nadia (Coco Nation).
Once Nadia leaves, Claire will reflect on how she didn’t get to play with other kids as a child – and if she played a game with her great-aunt, Jordan would cheat to win if necessary and make her feel like a loser.
Victoria and Cole will hate that Jordan put Claire through so much mental anguish, but they’ll see that she seems lighter and that she’s doing much better.
After Michael summons Cole and Victoria, they’ll meet with him at Society. That’ll lead to the revelation that Victor wants Claire released early as part of his trap for Jordan.
Victoria will fume over Victor going behind her back like this and will fear a setback for Claire. Cole will worry about the same thing and warn Michael that this isn’t happening.
At the psych ward, Victor will pay Claire a visit and explain why he’d like to arrange for her early release.
Claire will realize that if Jordan finds out Victor pulled strings for this, she won’t be able to resist reaching out. Jordan will want to remind Claire that the Newmans are terrible and try to turn her against them again.
Plus, it’ll make Claire easier to reach, so Victor will tout the benefits and assure Claire that she’ll still get the care she needs.
Claire will wonder if she really gets a say in this, but Victor will promise not to force her if she doesn’t think she’s ready.
Victor will contend that Claire’s recovery comes first, but he’ll feel like this might be the only way to stop Jordan for good.
After Victor talks about how nice it is to add another granddaughter to the family, he’ll give Claire some time to think it over.
Back at the ranch, Victoria will confront Victor and wonder what he was thinking going behind her back to put this plan in motion. That’ll lead to some bickering as Victor tries to sell Victoria on his strategy.
Although Victoria won’t want Claire in the line of fire, Victor will insist she’ll be protected and that she’ll get the best therapists on the outside.
Victor will also urge Victoria to see how nice it’d be for Claire to be a real part of her life.
Over with Claire again, she’ll ask a nurse for help since she’ll want to make a phone call to her attorney, Michael Baldwin.
Claire will smile confidently like she’s decided she’s ready to agree to Victor’s early release plan.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Claire will take a big risk to stop Jordan, so stay tuned for updates on all the shockers ahead.
