The Young and the Restless Recap: Monday, January 15 – Sharon’s Surprise for Nick – Summer Asks Chance to Dinner

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, January 15, reveals that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will give the press some info ahead of Sharon Rosales’ (Sharon Case) launch party at the GCAC.

Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will quiz Mariah about a surprise Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) has planned, but Mariah will keep it under wraps until Sharon’s ready to unveil it at the bash.

At Chancellor-Winters, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will wonder if Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) had a chance to look at some of the proposals he sent, but Devon will point out that he likes to avoid rushing into any business decisions.

There’ll be some tension between Devon and Billy, so Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will pick up on it when they arrive.

Chelsea will suggest a double date since they’ll all be dressed up for Sharon’s launch party, but Devon will stay behind with Abby to finish a bit more work.

Outside the office, Chelsea will ask Billy about the tense vibe, but he’ll downplay it and head to the athletic club with her.

Devon will also downplay things when Abby grills him, so they’ll dash off to the celebration soon after.

At the Abbott mansion, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) will gush over each other’s party looks before talk turns to Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) plan being exposed.

Diane will think Jack can promote Kyle now without hiding anything, but he won’t see the rush and will think they’d better head out.

In the jazz lounge, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will give Sharon some flowers from Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) and Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) before handing over a gift box from him as well.

Sharon will open it and see that Nick’s given her a CEO nameplate, so she’ll be grateful.

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will seem quite pleased to have Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) by his side and will hype up all her accomplishments.

Y&R spoilers say Nick will manage to be civil with Adam, so Sharon will appreciate his help keeping the event drama-free.

Sharon will privately talk to Sally about how things seem to be going well in her romance with Adam.

Sally will hint about things going well for Sharon and Nick too, but Sharon will argue that he’s just there as her date and not her “date-date.”

Diane and Jack will question Devon about Tucker, but Devon will insist they’ll have to get their info somewhere else since he’s no longer on speaking terms with his bio dad.

Jack will also corner Chelsea to ask how Billy’s doing, so she’ll admit she thinks stepping away from Jabot is a good thing.

It’ll be obvious how much Chelsea cares about Billy, so Jack will think spending time with her is good for Billy, too.

Once it’s time for Sharon’s speech, she’ll thank Mariah for putting this event together and Nick for all his help in the early stages of the revamped company.

Sharon will unveil the surprise Mariah concealed earlier, so it’ll turn out to be a new name and logo for the company.

When Nick realizes Sharon’s company is now called Cassidy First Technology, he’ll get emotional.

Sharon will tell the crowd that she intends to donate half of profits to various charities that are near and dear to her heart. There’ll also be some software and technology donations to go along with Sharon’s mission.

In a moment alone with Billy and Devon, Sharon will mention her dream about Chancellor-Winters partnering up with Cassidy First Technology. Devon and Billy will be intrigued enough to set up a meeting about the idea.

Nick will speak with Sharon after the speech, so they’ll share a warm scene as Sharon admits she still feels Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) guiding her.

After Nick insists Cassie would be so proud, he’ll express how he’s in awe of Sharon and will highlight her triumph tonight.

At Society, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will join Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and pester her about Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) again, but Summer will point out that Chance turned down her lunch offer.

Once Summer suggests she needs to accept that nothing’s going to happen with Chance, Phyllis will fume over Kyle’s treatment of Summer since it made her believe she didn’t deserve happiness.

Summer won’t want to scheme like she used to, so she’ll feel like taking Phyllis’ advice would be a step backward.

Phyllis will wonder if that’s a slam and will refuse to apologize for going after what she wants.

Summer will acknowledge that she wouldn’t exist without Phyllis crossing lines, but she’ll be adamant about things not working out with Chance.

After Summer leaves, Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) will arrive and take a seat at the bar. Phyllis will join Christine and offer to buy her a drink as an apology for being so combative before.

Christine won’t buy Phyllis’ act and will gloat about her upcoming cabin trip with Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian), which she’ll claim was all Danny’s idea.

Once Christine exits, Phyllis will look pensive and decide to get Danny on the phone.

At Crimson Lights, Summer will be taken aback to find Chance doing Chancellor-Winters research on his tablet.

After Summer realizes Chance is late for the launch party, she’ll insist he needs to support Sharon and won’t even think he has time to change clothes.

Chance will admit he’s not going and will explain the breakup, so Summer will express surprise and settle down.

That’ll leave Chance chuckling over Summer barreling in there and confronting him over his party wardrobe before she understood the situation.

Summer will plan to let Chance get back to his research, but then she’ll suggest he can’t work empty stomach. Once Summer asks if she can buy Chance dinner, he’ll smile in response.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chance and Summer will have to figure out what their next chapter looks like, so stay tuned for updates on any big romantic news.
