The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, April 11, reveals that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will find Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) alone with a drink in the jazz lounge, so she’ll wonder what’s got him brooding at this late hour.
Kyle and Summer will talk about the stalled nanny search before Kyle points out how Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) clicked with Claire Grace (Hayley Erin).
Summer will get updates on Kyle’s more recent encounter with Claire and how she opened up about trying to overcome her past with Jordan (Colleen Zenk).
Although Summer won’t seem thrilled about Kyle being on Claire’s side, he’ll act like he’s just making observations.
Summer will finally circle back to what’s bothering Kyle, so he’ll admit he’s struggling to be Diane Jenkins-Abbott’s (Susan Walters) subordinate.
After Summer admits she feared this would happen, she’ll insist there are only two solutions: Kyle can walk away from Jabot or prove he’s meant to have the co-CEO position instead.
Once Kyle decides Summer’s right, he’ll agree that he either needs to leave Jabot or take what should’ve been his in the first place.
At the Abbott mansion, “Ms. Abbott” will remain in control of Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), but “Ash” will keep shouting at the real Ashley to wake up and stop this.
Meanwhile, “Ms. Abbott” will fume over Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Diane refusing to let her leave the house or even go upstairs alone.
After Ms. Abbott rants about this harsh treatment, she’ll make it clear that it’s unforgivable.
Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will call Jack back and learn there’s an urgent situation that could use her expertise at the house, so she’ll vow to come right over.
“Ms. Abbott” will act like Sharon only knows about pouring coffee and serving muffins, but Jack will trust Sharon’s opinion and hope that getting an outsider’s perspective will help.
As “Ms. Abbott” fights to stay in control, she’ll keep shouting stop and will grip her head in pain. At one point, “Ms. Abbott” will stumble and end up needing Billy and Traci to steady her.
After the dizziness passes, “Ms. Abbott” will blame Ashley’s family for exhausting her and will feel like she needs to lie down.
Once “Ash” finally succeeds in waking Ashley up, “Ms. Abbott” will flop down on the sofa.
Soon after, “Ms. Abbott” will find herself chained to the bed in Ashley’s mind and rage at “Ash” since they won’t be able to protect Ashley now.
The real Ashley will awaken confused and terrified since she’ll have no memory of anything that’s been going on.
After Ashley realizes Traci gave the rest of the family the news about her blackouts, Traci will point out she already told her that.
Ashley won’t recall Jack summoning Sharon either, so she’ll be surprised and concerned when Sharon arrives.
However, Sharon will insist she’s just there to help as a friend and will want to do whatever she can.
Since Ashley will be so frazzled, Billy will think maybe they should let her rest in her room.
Sharon won’t think Ashley should go alone, so Traci will take her upstairs and pull out a familiar quilt of the past.
After Traci shares some childhood memories, Ashley will cry and admit how scared she is. Traci will snuggle up close to Ashley in bed as she tries to reassure her.
Next on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Traci will head back downstairs while Ashley sleeps.
That’ll give Traci a chance to join Jack, Billy and Diane’s conversation with Sharon, who’ll hear about all Ashley’s strange symptoms.
Billy will admit he thinks Ashley’s showing signs of dissociative identity disorder and will reflect on his own experience with it.
Although Sharon won’t be able to offer a diagnosis, she’ll acknowledge that DID a possibility.
Sharon will plan to make some calls first thing in the morning and get a list of referrals. It’ll be obvious that Ashley needs to see a professional right away.
Jack will worry about the angry version of Ashley fighting them on this, but Traci will point out that the version she took upstairs wants help.
After Traci admits it’s like Ashley is lost, she’ll think they’ve got to help her before it’s too late.
