The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, April 4, reveals that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will ask Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) about Daniel Romalotti Jr.’s (Michael Graziadei) firing, so Billy will confirm it and admit Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) got the boot, too.
Billy will express concern about the ramifications of Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) decision and point out it’ll mean a lot of pink slips in the gaming division if they can’t find a proper replacement for Daniel.
Once Billy alludes to Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) issues and everything Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) is dealing with, Chance will offer to pick up the slack if Billy needs time off.
However, Billy will insist on sticking to his duties at Chancellor-Winters while Chelsea’s out of town and being there for her when she gets back.
At the GCAC, Devon Hamilton-Winters will object to Billy sticking around the company now that Lily has returned, but Lily won’t want to fuel the conflict with Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) by pushing Billy out.
Devon will seem like he’s starting to see the value of perhaps splitting the companies behind the scenes like Mamie Johnson (Veronica Redd) suggested, but Lily won’t agree with that strategy and will act like Mamie’s influence is a bad thing.
Lily will want to dial down the tension between Devon and Billy, but Devon will feel like Billy has commitment issues – both professionally and personally.
Lily will argue that her breakup with Billy wasn’t the same as her split from Daniel since she drifted apart from Billy.
Furthermore, Lily encouraged Billy to follow his heart and leave Chancellor-Winters. Even so, Devon won’t think Billy is someone they can truly count on.
Once Lily and Devon head to the office, it won’t take long for Devon and Billy to clash again.
Lily will ask to speak to Billy alone and push him to look in the mirror when it comes to the problems that he’s blaming Devon for.
Since Lily went to bat for Billy, she’ll push him to get honest about what he hopes to accomplish at Chancellor-Winters and whether they can count on him to put the company first.
In the jazz lounge, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will ask Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) what the catch is when it comes to his marriage proposal since it’s happening way too soon.
Tucker will insist this is what you do when you love someone and will act like he’s following his heart, but Audra will seem skeptical.
When Audra worries that something happened with Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), Tucker will snap at her and instantly shut down that idea.
As Audra continues fishing for information, she’ll get updates on Devon suggesting Tucker would always be alone.
Audra will fear Tucker’s proposal is a reaction to that, but he’ll suggest it merely reinforced what he’d already been thinking about for a while.
Although Audra will be sorry, she won’t be able to accept Tucker’s marriage offer.
It’ll be too fast, so Tucker will put the ring away when he fails to change her mind.
Audra will push Tucker to consider whether he’s trying to prove something to Ashley, Devon, the rest of the world and perhaps even himself.
Tucker will agree to mull all that over, but he’ll also want Audra to give his proposal some real thought.
Once Audra says she’ll try, she’ll toast to being an unconventional couple with Tucker and will share a dance with him.
As Tucker talks about their connection, Audra will act like maybe not being married is what makes it so special. Afterward, Tucker and Audra will hit the sheets up in his suite.
At the Abbott house on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will realize Ashley has disappeared again, so she’ll leave her sister a worried voicemail.
When Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) comes home with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), Traci will keep her earlier promise and avoid spilling the details of Ashley’s memory lapses.
Once Traci leaves, Nikki will admit she thinks something’s wrong and will fear that Traci clammed up because she was there.
Jack will reassure Nikki and get her to talk through her feelings about the mystery man at the bar.
Although Jack will suggest it could’ve been an innocent gesture from someone who saw a beautiful woman, Nikki will doubt that since the guy left – not to mention he knew her drink of choice.
Jack will think it’s good that Nikki’s going to leave town for a while, but Nikki will admit she’s rethinking her anniversary trip with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Nikki won’t want to leave Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) vulnerable in case that’s what Jordan planned.
Besides, Jordan would probably just hang around until after the trip, so Nikki won’t allow herself to be scared off when facing Jordan seems inevitable.
After Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) appears, she’ll seem uneasy as she spies Jack and Nikki’s close moment.
Diane will also find out about Nikki ditching her anniversary trip with Victor, so she’ll wonder why Nikki would give that up.
It’ll be obvious that Diane’s trying to get rid of Nikki, but Nikki will have her reasons for staying in town.
Once Nikki heads home, Jack will see that Diane’s on edge, so he’ll push her to be honest.
Diane will express concern over all the time Jack’s spending with Nikki, but she’ll acknowledge that she’s perhaps just feeling insecure.
Jack will assure Diane that there’s nothing to be insecure about and will embrace her, but Diane will still look uneasy.
At the ranch, Nikki will pull a bottle of vodka out of her purse and start drinking from it, so her sobriety struggles will continue.
