The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 11, reveals that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will pull out her flask and contemplate taking a drink, but she’ll ultimately shove it back in her desk drawer and leave her office.
Meanwhile, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will interrupt Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) conversation with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and learn Nick’s been promoted to co-CEO status with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
When that news doesn’t faze Victoria, Nick will wonder if she’s really OK with Adam helping him run Newman Enterprises.
Victoria will make it clear that Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) is her only focus right now, so that’ll lead to her asking Victor for a big favor.
Since Claire wants a chance to confront Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and get some closure, Victoria will ask for the use of the Newman jet and for a security team to accompany them.
Once Nikki walks in and overhears, she’ll insist this is happening over her dead body!
Nikki will rant about the danger of letting Jordan and Claire put their heads together, but Nick will think they should hear Victoria out.
Victoria will explain Claire’s thought process and suggest this could help her heal.
Although Victoria will have concerns of her own, she’ll worry about losing her daughter forever if she doesn’t take this leap of faith with Claire.
Victor won’t approve of this plan, but he’ll end up siding with Victoria over Nikki and granting the request.
Nick will back Victoria up, so Nikki will feel like no one’s listening to her feelings and will eventually storm out.
In Nikki’s office again, she’ll guzzle vodka from her flask and pretend she’s not there when Victor knocks on the door.
At the GCAC, Adam and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will have a lovely date, so Sally will admit she doesn’t want it to end and will invite Adam up for some chocolate truffles in her suite.
As Adam and Sally are on the way up, Nick will walk in the front door and spot them. That’ll bring some awkwardness, but Adam will hope this won’t wreck the progress he made with Nick today.
Nick will assure Adam that they’re good and urge Sally to have a good night before he heads to the bar.
While Nick orders a scotch, Nikki will come staggering in and hide while Nick steps away from the bar for a phone call.
Once Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) arrives and sees that Nikki’s been drinking, she’ll want to call Victor. Nikki will lunge for the phone and cause Lauren to drop it moments later.
Since Nikki will refuse to let Victor see her like this, Lauren will take her up to a suite and order a large pot of coffee to help sober Nikki up.
Nikki will think she just needs to sleep this off, but she won’t want to tell Victor what happened until tomorrow.
When Victor calls, Nikki will beg Lauren to answer her phone and lie for her. Lauren will reluctantly pretend she had a fashion emergency that’s probably going to take all night at Fenmore’s.
Victor will assume that Nikki’s drunk, so Lauren will confirm it and discreetly assure Victor that she’ll watch over Nikki.
After Lauren tells Nikki that Victor sends his love, Nikki will think she’ll be fine on her own and will urge Lauren to go home to Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc).
Lauren will refuse to leave Nikki alone right now, so she’ll stick around to babysit her.
At Crimson Lights, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will bump into Victoria and ask about Nikki as well as Victoria’s decision to take a leave of absence.
Since that’s a huge deal for Victoria, Nate will hope everything’s OK and will offer to listen if she wants to talk.
Victoria will admit she’s always valued Nate’s guidance and will spill the whole ugly Jordan story on the patio.
Nate will reel once he gets updates on Jordan kidnapping Victoria’s daughter as a baby and raising Claire to hate the Newmans.
Victoria will also talk about Claire’s mental hospital stint and how she’s helping Claire with her plan to confront Jordan now.
Nate will point out that could be healing for Claire and will think Victoria’s doing the right thing by supporting her on this.
Victoria will feel better after hearing Nate’s opinion on Thursday’s Y&R episode since he’s a doctor and someone she trusts.
After Victoria hints about her relationship with Nate, she’ll wonder if what they shared has really been destroyed.
Although Nate will acknowledge that he cares about Victoria, he’ll suggest he could never get past the hold her family has on her – nor could he ask her to leave her family.
Victoria will thank Nate for his honesty before he reminds her that he’s always there to listen and be her friend, so Victoria will seem touched.
In Sally’s suite, Adam will ask if she’s OK after the uncomfortable Nick encounter downstairs. Sally will downplay it and offer Adam some of the truffles she mentioned, but he’ll skip them and initiate lovemaking.
Adam and Sally will start undressing as they kiss and fall back on the bed together, so their date will end on a sizzling note.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sally and Adam will inevitably face more hurdles sooner or later, but they’ll savor the steaminess for now.
