The Young and the Restless Recap: Wednesday, February 21 – Amanda’s Manipulation Fails – Billy Objects to Abby Drama

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, February 21, reveals that Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) will try to close the door on Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) when she shows up with a bottle of wine as a peace offering, but she’ll eventually barge her way in and make another pitch for their future.

Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) will show next with some special tea as a gift of her own, so she’ll immediately get into another fierce faceoff with Phyllis.

Danny will eventually get fed up enough to leave, but Phyllis and Christine won’t even notice at first!

Once Christine and Phyllis do realize Danny bolted, that’ll add to their conflict.

Phyllis will seem like her anger is reaching a dangerous level, so Christine will push her to do something she can press charges for.

However, Phyllis will make it clear that Christine isn’t worth the risk and will ultimately saunter out. Christine will be exasperated as she plops down on the sofa alone.

At the GCAC, Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will run into Danny and hear about the latest drama, so she’ll wonder if maybe Danny sees Phyllis as more than a friend if he’s willing to put his relationship with Christine at risk.

At Crimson Lights, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will bump into Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and ask how his mentorship with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is going, but Chance will suspect this is about pumping him for info on Billy.

Since there’s been gossip around the office about Billy, Nate and Devon Hamilton-Winters’ (Bryton James) issues, Chance will want to know more about what’s going on.

Nate will explain some of the problems that have developed and note that even Chance himself had reservations about Billy early on, but Chance will admit he was wrong.

After Chance mentions how enthusiastic Billy is about Chancellor-Winters, he’ll add that Bily hasn’t said a negative word about Nate or Devon.

Once Chance sings Billy’s praises, Nate will offer guidance as well if there’s anything Chance wants to run by him.

Chance will bring up a music festival idea, so Nate will admit he had a similar one that Devon previously felt the timing wasn’t right for.

Since it’s a new day now, Nate will offer to help Chance with the pitch and will think they can craft something Devon will like.

When Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) appears, Chance will smile and join her nearby. That’ll lead to Chance gushing over Nate’s support for his idea, so Summer will seem pleased over his success at the company.

At Chancellor-Winters, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will arrive right as Devon shuts down Billy’s notion of adding Abbott to the company name.

Amanda will admit Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) will be sorry to hear that, so Billy and Devon will wonder what she’s doing there.

It turns out Jill couldn’t make it back to town right now, so she sent Amanda to handle things as Chancellor-Winters chief legal counsel.

Amanda will make it clear that Jill wants to get this name issue resolved quickly, but Devon won’t think this is how a partnership works and will point out that Jill never brought this up until Billy pushed for it.

After Devon exits to conduct other business, Amanda will speak to Billy privately and admit she’s also there to gauge the company dynamics since Jill’s concerned.

Billy will acknowledge that Devon doesn’t trust him, so he’s been shutting Billy out and rejecting ideas to contain him.

Since Amanda played the bad cop, she’ll suggest Billy can play good cop while she goes to handle something else.

Billy will indeed seek Devon out again, so he’ll get honest about Devon struggling to work with other people after having so much autonomy in the past.

After Billy points out Devon’s past issues with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Nate, Devon will defend himself since he’s just asking questions about the timing and motives while Billy’s the one making demands.

Billy will think they have to learn to trust each other and respect each other’s judgment, but Devon won’t hold his breath on that happening!

At Society, Amanda will interrupt Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) as they wait for Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) to come celebrate her new manager role.

When Amanda walks over, she’ll get updates on the celebration and assume Abby’s stepping back because of her role on the Chancellor-Winters board.

Since Tessa will be stuck on a phone call anyway, Amanda will ask to speak with Abby alone.

Mariah will head in the back with Tessa while Amanda fishes for answers from Abby about Devon’s feelings toward Billy.

Of course, Abby will object to the idea of betraying Devon’s trust. Amanda will scoff at Abby’s use of the word “betray” and act like Abby’s being dramatic.

As far as Amanda’s concerned, she’ll think Abby has a responsibility to do whatever she can to make Chancellor-Winters strong as possible – at least once she’s officially on the board.

When Abby asks if that’s a threat, Amanda will deny it.

Abby will feel like Amanda is trying to manipulate her using her regrets over the past, but Amanda will think they’ve all done things they regret and will tout the benefits of a unified front.

Abby, on the other hand, won’t think Billy needs anyone to fight his battles and will suggest they should trust Devon and Billy to handle things on their own.

After Amanda exits on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Abby will talk to Mariah about things potentially getting messy, but she’ll suggest they’ll have to wait for the board vote to find out.

Back at the office, Amanda will give Billy the news about her attempt to pry info out of Abby, but he’ll object to Amanda’s tactics and wish she’d let him handle this.

Nevertheless, Amanda will insist it’s her job to get everyone on the same team for Jill, so that’s what she’ll plan to do.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Amanda will make more waves soon, so stay tuned!
