The Young and the Restless Recap: Wednesday, January 24 – Claire’s Wild Response to Jordan’s Call – Adam Rejects Felon Niece

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, January 24, reveals that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will thank Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) for his help and suggest it’s progress since she realized she needed it.

Although Nikki had a couple drinks, she’ll point out that she didn’t get drunk and act like there’s no need to tell Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) about her latest slip.

Jack will argue that secrecy makes things worse for addicts, but Nikki won’t want to start from scratch with a new sponsor – nor will she want to come clean to Victor about turning to Jack.

Jack still won’t like the idea of keeping secrets, but he’ll agree to try it Nikki’s way for now and keep Victor out of the loop.

Nikki will open up to Jack about what Jordan (Colleen Zenk) put her through and explain the situation with Claire Grace (Hayley Erin).

The visit to Claire in the psych ward stirred up difficult emotions for Nikki just before her latest setback, so she’ll share her experience and get some support.

Nikki will hug Jack in gratitude and once again get a promise that he won’t say anything to Victor.

Since it’ll be a little late to attend an AA meeting, Nikki will turn down Jack’s offer to drive her back to the ranch and decide to get the Newman driver to take her back instead.

In Claire’s room on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, one of the orderlies will bring her a phone and claim Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is on the other end of the line.

Once Claire’s alone, she’ll answer and freak over Jordan actually being the person she’s talking to.

Jordan will warn Claire not to hang up and try to get her great-niece back on her side.

Claire won’t want anything more to do with Jordan, but Jordan will argue that the Newmans are just going to annihilate Claire in the end.

After Claire washes her hands of Jordan, she’ll repeatedly insist that she wants Jordan dead before hanging up.

Jordan will be upset over Claire cutting off the call while Claire returns the phone to the orderly.

Once Claire reveals “the devil” was actually the one who called her, she’ll curl up in her bed and cry alone.

At Newman Enterprises, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will grow concerned when he walks in on Victoria and Victor’s discussion about eventually accepting Claire as part of the family.

Adam will try to pump the brakes since Claire is a mentally ill felon, but Victoria will scoff and act like he’s afraid they’ll all grow to love Claire more than him.

Adam will deny that since he doesn’t get any love from Victoria anyway and insist his concerns are about Jordan.

The news of Claire visiting Jordan in prison will alarm Adam, especially when he finds out Victoria doesn’t even know exactly what they talked about.

Adam will suggest Claire could be plotting with Jordan or might push for her great-aunt to be accepted as rehabilitated.

Victor will assure Adam that’s not going to happen and urge his son to trust Victoria’s judgment.

Adam will think Victoria would be more receptive if his advice was coming from Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), but Nick will argue that Victoria’s made it clear that her daughter is the priority.

Nick will back Victoria up and contend that Adam needs to let it go now that he’s spoken his mind. Even so, Adam will worry about Jordan getting out of prison and coming after the Newmans again.

Nikki will arrive and assure Adam that they’re handling the situation, but he still won’t seem convinced.

Later, Nikki will give Victoria updates on her visit to Claire, who opened up about seeing the pediatric wing during supervised exercise sessions.

Victoria will think it’s sad how Claire admires the families there, but Nikki will feel like these walks are helpful.

At Chancellor-Winters, Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) will once again pitch the idea of joining the board, so Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) will admit he thought it over and approves.

Abby gives valuable, honest guidance and could help defend them against Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John), so Devon will plan to get something in writing about Abby’s new role and present it to the board soon.

When Devon asks Abby to go over the details at lunch, they’ll head off to Society together.

At Daniel Romalotti Jr.’s (Michael Graziadei) place, he’ll talk to Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) about their tryst and admit Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) deserves better.

Heather won’t deny that, but she’ll also feel like what she shares with Daniel is far deeper.

After Heather makes another pitch for their future, she’ll offer to let Daniel buy her a late lunch – no strings attached.

At Society, Abby and Devon will find Heather sitting with Daniel soon after.

Heather will claim they’re meeting about Lucy Romalotti’s (Lily Brooks O’Briant) schedule before Devon joins Abby at a table nearby.

However, a suspicious Devon will keep looking over at Daniel and Heather’s cozy table for two, so Abby will wonder what’s going on.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Devon’s on the verge of a shocking discovery, so stay tuned!
