The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) has been focusing on her recovery at Memorial’s psych ward, but this is just a temporary stop on her journey. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) are determined to give Claire a normal life – and that’ll eventually include a romantic relationship if all goes well.
Will Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) become the man of Claire’s dreams down the road? Here are four reasons why Claire and Kyle’s romance is most likely brewing.
1) Claire deserves to fall in love
It’s safe to assume Claire hasn’t had much romantic experience since she spent so much time plotting for Jordan (Colleen Zenk) over the years.
Jordan robbed Claire of so many experiences by making sure her life was consumed with Newman hatred.
This is Claire’s chance to do something for herself and fall in love! Claire deserves that after everything she’s been through, so a new love story will inevitably be on the horizon for her.
2) Kyle is single and lonely
Kyle likes to pretend he’s fine, but he must be lonely deep down. That’s especially true now that Kyle and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) aren’t hooking up anymore.
Kyle’s mutually manipulative relationship with Audra wasn’t very meaningful anyway, so Claire might be his opportunity to truly move on from Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) and fall for someone new.
3) Classic Newman-Abbott drama
Of course, we can’t forget that Claire is a Newman, so Y&R could lean into the drama of her dating an Abbott.
The Abbotts and Newman are always going to have a little conflict between them, so this is a bit of a Romeo and Juliet situation that could bring great content.
4) Summer’s new rival in the works
As part of that Newman-Abbott drama we mentioned, we also can’t ignore the fact that Claire and Summer are related.
How will Summer react if Kyle starts dating another blonde Newman – particularly one who helped target beloved members of her family?
Summer may be wary of Claire and kick off a rivalry with her, which could drive plenty of juicy storylines for months or years to come.
