The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will land in a tight spot thanks to Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) vengeful plan. Victor hopes to put Adam back in charge at Newman Media and use the company against an enemy, so we can assume that enemy is Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
Although Victor trusts Adam to be as ruthless as his old man, there are other factors to consider besides the willingness to show no mercy.
Adam might happily sign up for cruelty against a random foe or someone he hates just as much as Victor, but will he really help Victor strike back against Jack?
Adam considers Jack a friend who’s stepped up for him when it counted in the past.
Plus, Victor’s reason for going after Jack is awfully flimsy.
It might be different if Jack had actively targeted Newman Enterprises or intentionally tried to harm someone in Victor’s family.
Instead, Jack took a risk by mixing pills and booze in front of Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).
Although Jack passed out and gave Nikki a scare, she was fine in the end and got the wakeup call she needed.
Nikki probably wouldn’t have gone to rehab if it hadn’t been for Jack, so Victor’s plan seems extreme under the circumstances.
It’s one thing for Victor to still be mad about what happened; it’s quite another for Victor to blow up Jack’s whole world over what essentially turned out to be a good thing for Nikki.
Victor is out of control, so Adam may see that and try to dial down his dad’s rage once he gets updates on the full plan.
It’s just tough to believe Adam will be all that crazy about a scheme against Jack, especially since it’ll involve Jabot.
Marchetti falls under the Jabot umbrella – and as luck would have it, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) just started filling in for Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) in the creative director position there.
Adam may worry about whatever they do at Jabot trickling down to damage or destroy Marchetti, too.
That could hurt Sally now and eventually Chelsea if she doesn’t have a job to come back to down the road.
Adam might point out that it could hurt Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) as well, but Victor may argue that they can make sure Marchetti is protected or just start a similar project at Newman Enterprises with Summer at the helm.
Whatever the case, Adam may see a ton of red flags when it comes to Victor’s plan, so will he ultimately betray his father?
Could Adam sabotage Victor’s efforts or at least warn Jack about certain details so he can thwart Victor himself?
Our Y&R predictions point to Adam facing some tough decisions, so maybe he’ll risk getting fired to betray Victor and shut down his dad’s plot.
