The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) could soon have a good reason to turn against Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). Chance and Summer currently have a sweet, supportive relationship, but things may turn sour for Summer in the near future.
That’s because Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) is determined to frame Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) for causing Heather Stevens’ (Vail Bloom) demise. Daniel could get arrested if Sharon’s plan works, so let’s think about how that’ll affect his family.
Summer loves her brother and will surely flip out if Chance carts him off in handcuffs. Chance may have no choice but to follow the evidence, but it could lead him astray since Sharon planted proof against Daniel and is offering up misleading clues.
No matter how bad the situation looks, there’s no way Summer will believe Daniel is guilty. Summer knows Daniel’s heart and has seen his grief over Heather first-hand, so she’ll no doubt assume he’s been framed and try to tell Chance that.
Despite Summer’s efforts to make Chance see that he’s got it all wrong, Chance may feel like his hands are tied. Even if Chance has some nagging doubts of his own, the police chief might force Chance to arrest Daniel and throw him in a jail cell.
On the other hand, Chance might be genuinely duped by Sharon’s frame-up – at least for a while. We know that Chance has been asking questions about Daniel’s arguments with Heather, so Sharon’s only going to fuel suspicions that are already there.
Chance understands that in situations like this, a deceased woman’s romantic partner often falls under suspicion. Although Chance cares about Summer, he can’t just ignore Daniel as a suspect because that’s her brother.
However, Summer may take it personally and become appalled over Chance’s actions. If Summer has to witness Chance handcuffing Daniel and feels it’s happening unjustly, it may be unforgivable in her eyes.
Angry Summer’s breakup could be brewing depending on how all this plays out. Will Summer dump Chance over Daniel’s arrest and his refusal to see the obvious setup?
