The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that everything is on track for Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) to be released from her facility soon, so Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) is looking forward to her mother’s homecoming.
Since Abby wants both Ashley and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to walk her down the aisle, it’s extra important for her mom to make it back in time.
Thankfully, Y&R spoilers confirm that Eileen Davidson is indeed reprising her role as Ashley and will be returning for Abby’s upcoming wedding.
Ashley will have a chance to watch Abby tie the knot with Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James), so that’ll bring her great joy – especially after all these months of working so hard on her recovery.
However, there could be another threat to Ashley’s mental health on the horizon.
Ashley will inevitably reunite with Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins) in the near future, so we have to consider how that reunion might go.
It’s possible Alan will pick Ashley up from her facility in France and bring her back to Genoa City.
Then again, Ashley might fly home on her own and show off her independence following her time locked up.
We have no doubt that Ashley is feeling much stronger, but trouble could be brewing once she interacts with Alan again.
Ashley is sure to be surprised by the romantic developments between Alan and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) in the coming episodes.
Although part of Ashley may be thrilled that Traci and Alan have found love, another part of her might suspect that something’s off.
Y&R has offered up some hints that Alan might actually be his twisted twin brother, Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins), so maybe one last twin switch happened after the balcony fall.
If Martin had time to change into his deceased brother’s clothes, then he could be masquerading as Alan right now.
It’s entirely possible that Martin wasn’t the twin who perished that night.
When Alan seemed like he didn’t recognize the Abbott mansion upon his initial return to GC, that was definitely a red flag.
We also know Alan is working on a psychological study and wants to interview Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) for the book he’s writing.
What if this psychological study is really about Martin’s elaborate scheme and just how long he can pose as Alan?
Whatever the case, it’d be interesting if Ashley picked up on some strange clues.
Ashley already got duped by Martin once, but maybe she won’t be so easy to fool this time around!
Could Ashley start connecting some weird dots and grow worried about the possibility that Traci’s fallen hard for a sociopath?
