The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) could be headed for another mental breakdown based on how this whole “he said, she said” Paris storyline has escalated.
Ashley is clinging to the belief that Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) is gaslighting her and that he resorted to bribery to sell his side of the story.
Of course, the waiter Ashley talked to backed up Tucker’s version of events – and so did the other members of the waitstaff that Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) spoke with, even when they were offered more money.
At this point, it certainly looks like Ashley is misremembering the confrontation, but she’s scared of facing the truth.
This Y&R storyline now feels more about Ashley’s mental state than what actually happened at that Paris café.
In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter whether Tucker smashed a glass or threw a chair? Tucker still lashed out at Ashley and left her fearful either way, so that’s not the issue here.
Now it’s just a matter of Ashley questioning her sanity and feeling betrayed by those trying to get through to her. Ashley is upset at the thought of being wrong when she was so sure she was right about her memories.
It’s easy to see how that would be hard on someone who’s been delusional in the past and faced mental health struggles.
After another heated faceoff with Tucker during the week of February 12-16, Ashley will face a difficult reminder of her history.
It sounds like there may be some flashbacks involving Ashley’s previous mental troubles, so she may be at her breaking point. Ashley may realize she needs professional help before she goes off the rails any further.
If Ashley is gearing up for a mental hospital stint, how will that news affect Tucker? It could soften Tucker toward Ashley and make him feel guilty for his role in pushing her over the edge.
Although Tucker’s version of events was seemingly correct, he’s been harsh and even smug at times.
Tucker was ready to gloat about being right, but he may see he should’ve been more concerned about Ashley’s mental health decline.
Will this pull Tucker back in Ashley’s direction and cause a huge setback for Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver)?
Audra needs to keep Tucker close and reel him in for her Glissade takeover, but that plan could go up in smoke!
Since Audra seems to have developed real feelings for Tucker, she could lose in more ways than one if he reunites with Ashley down the road.
