The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that there may soon be trouble in paradise when it comes to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) romance.
Chelsea clearly adores Billy and is so grateful that she can always turn to him as a source of support.
Of course, Billy is crazy about Chelsea as well and knows that he can vent to her about his own problems.
Chelsea and Billy have become a mature, stable couple on the show, so what obstacle might come along and serve as a wrecking ball for their relationship?
There may be multiple factors, but we certainly have to consider how Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) struggles might affect things.
Connor was doing fine at his new school until he suddenly wasn’t, so this seems like a plot point to shake things up.
Now Connor’s grades are slipping and he’s having trouble concentrating in class.
Connor is also throwing most of his food away and washing his hands constantly, so Chelsea and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) are definitely concerned.
A possible OCD diagnosis has been discussed for Connor, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Regardless, Connor isn’t doing well and may soon need much more of Chelsea’s attention.
In Y&R’s February 22 episode, Chelsea decided to go visit Connor’s school and got Billy’s offer to drive her over the weekend.
Based on some behind-the-scenes content, The Young and the Restless spoilers hint that Chelsea and Adam will be the ones who ultimately visit Connor as his parents.
Billy may soon find himself feeling like the odd man out since he’s not Connor’s dad and naturally shouldn’t be as involved in all this as Adam is.
At some point, Adam and Chelsea might move Connor back to Genoa City so they can keep a closer eye on him and surround him with love.
If that happens, it could lead to Chelsea pumping the brakes on Billy a bit.
Billy is quite smitten, so he’s probably planning on asking Chelsea to live together full-time soon. Perhaps Billy even has a marriage proposal cooking up since he’s fallen so hard for Chelsea.
Unfortunately, all that may have to wait, especially if Connor becomes less welcoming to Billy than he’s been in the past.
Connor may latch onto the familiarity of his parents and could potentially even start rooting for Adam and Chelsea’s reunion again.
Since Connor has to be Chelsea’s priority, she may not want to risk upsetting him any further with her deepening connection to Billy.
Chelsea might even blindside Billy with a separation and suggest maybe it’s best if they take a break from their romance right now.
Whatever the case, Billy and Chelsea will face some relationship drama sooner or later, so stick with us for updates on any bad news that might be brewing.
