The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) has been on a positive path for a while now. Even when Chelsea cheated on Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), it didn’t happen because of any malicious motives.
However, many Y&R fans can’t help but feel like Chelsea has gotten a tad boring lately! Chelsea just doesn’t have the same spark she once did when she was in her bad girl era.
Of course, a lot has changed for Chelsea in recent years.
We’ve watched Chelsea deal with major mental health challenges – and most recently, Chelsea had to cope with Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) struggle to manage his OCD.
We get that Chelsea is a mother with more responsibilities now, so she can’t exactly be the same reckless con woman she used to be.
That said, there’s room for Chelsea to perhaps revert to bad girl status on some level. Just because Chelsea is a bit older and wiser now doesn’t mean she has to be dull!
Chelsea hasn’t had much airtime in recent months since characters who behave often fade to the background.
There just isn’t as much for Chelsea to do when she’s just a doting mom who’s resisting an Adam reunion.
Perhaps it’s time for Chelsea to revisit that bad girl era we mentioned.
Melissa Claire Egan recently posted some behind-the-scenes videos on social media and showed off her edgy wardrobe for the day, so could that be a clue about Chelsea’s next transformation?
We’re not saying Chelsea’s going to be a villain or anything, but her outfit choice does seem a little bolder than usual.
It could hint at Chelsea’s personality getting adjusted to make her spicier and more entertaining in the new year.
