The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has some trust issues when it comes to Claire Grace (Hayley Erin), who nearly helped Jordan (Colleen Zenk) wipe out a good chunk of the Newman family at the lake house.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) is still struggling every day to stay sober, so the aftermath of Claire’s actions can’t be easily forgotten.
Adam may not be on the best of terms with Nikki, but he’s still horrified over what Claire did and over Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) willingness to have so much faith in his new granddaughter.
Since Adam has been clashing with Claire and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) over his lack of trust, perhaps Claire just needs to do something to prove herself in Adam’s eyes.
It’d be simple for the show to create a scenario that would help – especially now that Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) is having such a hard time with his OCD diagnosis.
Y&R has established that Claire is a bit of a kid whisperer.
Claire definitely has a knack for connecting with children, so maybe she’ll connect with Connor next and lead to good news when it comes to her relationship with Adam.
In the March 19 episode, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) shared some upsetting concerns with Dr. Alcott (Catherine Dyer).
As Chelsea broke down in tears, she admitted to worrying Connor would let his intrusive thoughts chase him out onto a ledge before he could get treatment.
That’s what happened with Chelsea, so it’s easy to see why she’d fear the worst – particularly when Connor’s saying that he hates himself and doesn’t want to be here.
At some point, maybe Connor will go missing like he’s done in the past and leave his parents worried sick.
Chelsea and Adam could end up terrified about what Connor will do next, but that’s when Claire could find Connor and come to his rescue.
Perhaps Claire will be the one to get through to Connor about going to residential treatment and getting the help he needs.
That would earn Claire some points with Adam and potentially stop all his criticism of her.
