The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) recently offered a hint about where her storyline might be headed next. On Y&R’s December 27 episode, Diane quizzed Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) about her failed marriage to Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) and gave a potential clue about the destruction of her own relationship.
Diane was curious about whether Ashley would’ve done anything differently if she had it to do over. When Diane posed the question to herself as well, Ashley asked if there was trouble in paradise.
Diane denied that anything was wrong in her marriage to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), but she did hint about all the “battle scars” from the past and suggested it was a miracle that they were together now.
“And this thing we have is so precious that I can’t imagine losing it,” Diane admitted. “It would break me.”
Of course, that’s exactly the kind of dialogue that could point to major drama on the horizon. Since Diane can’t imagine losing the life she’s built with Jack, it could be a clue that she indeed will.
Diane’s comment about how it would break her also seems rather ominous. Will Diane ultimately find herself a broken woman once her happiness with Jack falls apart?
Right now, Diane is feeling stable, loved and supported. Since everything is so rosy, there’s no reason for Diane to go off the rails and do anything crazy or menacing.
That could change if Diane loses Jack and the spot that she’s claimed within the Abbott family. Diane is on top of the world after getting everything she’s ever wanted – and that gives her so much further to fall!
If Diane and Jack’s marriage is going to crumble, we have to think about how that might happen. The easiest explanation is that Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) might make his feud with the Abbotts more personal.
Tucker has been plotting against Jabot, but he may expand his mission and decide to ruin Jack’s marriage, too.
Perhaps Tucker will decide that if he can’t have wedded bliss with Ashley, then Jack doesn’t deserve to have it with Diane either.
Diane and Jack’s divorce could become part of Tucker’s latest plan, so Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) would probably love to get in on that.
It could help Tucker convince Phyllis to partner up and finally get the revenge they’re both craving.
One way or another, Diane and Jack’s marriage may be poised to blow up, so stay tuned for updates on whether divorce news is brewing.
