The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) suddenly lash out at Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), who’ll confess she still doesn’t trust Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) and probably never will.
In the July 22 episode, Nikki will find it strange that Diane fired Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and will basically think Diane has had an agenda from day one of her return stint.
Now that Diane has Jack for a husband and has scored the co-CEO spot at Jabot, Nikki will suggest she’s accomplishing all her goals.
Jack will take umbrage over Nikki acting like Diane is a gold digger who manipulated him, so that’ll lead to a serious rift in their friendship.
Of course, Jack will point out that Diane doesn’t have the one thing she wanted most – which was a real relationship with her son.
Kyle has turned against Diane at this point, but maybe her priorities are simply shifting.
The show’s revisiting this idea of untrustworthy Diane and raising doubts about the kind of person she really is.
We have to consider where Y&R might be going with this and what it could mean for Jack’s marriage.
Is Diane’s wicked turn brewing? Is Jack’s wife still keeping secrets from him?
With Jordan (Colleen Zenk) in prison and Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) licking his wounds in hiding somewhere, the show has lost two schemers.
It’s possible that’ll lead to a writing shift for Diane that results in her scheming side being highlighted.
After all, there’s no denying that Diane is more interesting when she’s up to something!
Maybe this is a good opportunity for Diane to prove all the naysayers right and cause some trouble.
We’re not convinced that Jack knows every single thing about Diane’s past as “Taylor Jensen” in Los Angeles.
There could be some other secrets that Diane’s hiding – secrets that she’d do just about anything to keep quiet!
It’s also possible that Nikki’s right and that Diane’s marriage is more about what Jack can do for her than real love. If Jack’s eyes get opened to that, it could bring fury, devastation and divorce.
Regardless, Diane may land in some tricky situations in the coming weeks, so stick with us for predictions on whether she might go off the rails as a result.
