The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will eventually return to Genoa City and presumably plan on having a happy reunion with Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei).
Lily will probably want to thank Daniel for patiently awaiting her return while she’s been off supporting Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) in her time of crisis.
Daniel understands that Lily’s daughter has to come first right now, but that doesn’t mean he’s staying loyal to her during her absence.
Instead, Daniel is growing closer to Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) and sending her all kinds of mixed signals.
Despite building a solid relationship with Lily before she left, Daniel’s backtracking now and trying to pretend they’re not that serious.
At least that’s how Daniel acted when he opened up to Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) not too long ago!
On some level, maybe Daniel is attempting to justify his growing feelings for Heather, which are only going to get stronger in the coming episodes.
This could set the stage for some trouble once Christel Khalil’s maternity leave is over.
It’s easy to imagine Lily deciding to return without warning so she can pull off a romantic surprise.
Lily may hope to reward Daniel with a steamy night after spending so much time apart.
Since Lily has her own set of keys to Daniel’s penthouse, she may let herself in and react to a stunning sight on the sofa.
Daniel already reciprocated Heather’s kiss there on New Year’s Eve, but they could end up doing far more down the road.
Y&R could deliver a classic soapy moment if Lily enters to find Heather and Daniel hooking up on that same couch.
Daniel might finally surrender to what he’s feeling for Heather at the worst possible time.
Fans certainly won’t be surprised if that’s the direction this storyline takes, but Lily will be thrown for a loop.
It’ll be a shocking twist from Lily’s perspective if her homecoming takes this horrific turn.
Lily may get updates on some heartbreaking news in that moment if she realizes Daniel betrayed her and that their romance didn’t mean as much to him.
It could give Lily a reason to dump Daniel – and plenty of viewers will cheer if that happens since Daniel honestly doesn’t deserve her if this is how he’s going to behave.
